I guess if David Wright makes a few more errors, Johan's having a bad season.
He isn't the 1st pitcher who had to make up for an error and you know it. Unearned runs or not, no, not 1, pitcher from the A.L. has hit a GS since 1971. That is on Santana. Bad luck or not, get the fucken pitcher out.
Who cares about one pitch or one error? Johan Santana is still a great pitcher, anyone that disagrees with that is wrong.
That one pitch cost him 4 runs, earned or not, and a loss. Bad luck again or bad pitch. Great pitcher or not Jesse, One pitch can cost anyone a game and a bad pitch to an opposing pitcher is unthinkable.

I'm sure he'd say the same thing, but to even remotely insinuate that that one pitch defines his season or career in anyway is about as wrong as this picture.
I would take Santana on Boston in a heartbeat. He would probably be (10-2) or better right now. The Mets just suck. I agree with all of that but with that said, looking at one game and one game only, that loss was totally on Santana last night. He easily could have taken Wright off the hook with the pitcher up but Santana did anything but that. He is a great pitcher yes, he also made a huge mistake and deserved that loss last night though.

He's notoriously a slow starter, and he's one of the best pitchers in NL. Since when does ERA not matter? If he was 10-2 with a 6 ERA you guys would say he's having a great year? You guys are crazy. A few starts back he went 7 innings, gave up zero runs and had 10 strikeouts, I guess that's not a good outing because he didn't get the win.
