*COMP PLAY FOR "BIG MONDAY" ON:

    **TOP RATED PLAY ON:

    SF -118

-The Pirates are on a roll right now, but they are on their 8 game of their long 10 game road trip and now are in their 3rd city...I feel it will play a part in this one tonight....The Giants win last night in extra innings stopped their bleeding and 4 game slide and it also ended a surging Washington team's run.

Redman hits the mound for the Pirates and has not been successful at all vs the Giants, posting a 0-3 record with a 7.56 ERA vs them...In his last start at Home vs the Giants on April 29, he allowed 3 ERs on 7 hits over 6 innings...Redman, last season pitching for Oakland has gave up 6 HRs and 11 runs total in just 10 2/3 innings...This works in SF's favor cause they are very familiar with Redman and actually has dominated him the most of all NL teams he faced so far in his career.

SF will send Tomko to the hill to face Redman again...In his last start at Pitt, he pitched a complete game, allowing 4 hits, 2 ERs, and walking 1 getting the 3-2 win...I like him again tonight at Home, and especially with the Giants coming off of snapping their worst 4 game losing streak...The Giants are one of the top offensive teams at the plate hitting .280 overall, .353 OBP, and averaging 5.1 rpg...And, vs LHP's they have been hitting .299, .357 OBP, and average a solid 5.6 rpg vs them...With the familiarity with Redman they have, I definately see them providing enough support for Tomko tonight...

Other Giant stats I like is that they are hitting .314 vs LHPs overall, .313 vs LHPs in their last 10 games, and especially .366 vs LHPs at Home...Pitt, on the other hand, vs RHPs are averaging just 3.4 rpg and hitting .247 against them...and Tomko's 1.198 WHIP against them wont help.

-Pitt is just 1-4 in games played on Mondays....5-8 after a win...and 8-10 in games played at night....San Fran has already won four straight in this series, including a three-game sweep at Pitt, and tonight they should be able to put an end to the Pirates hot run of late. ..Go Giants!

      UPDATE FOR "BIG MONDAY":

Well Gang...Florida goes down to the Rocket, by one run, when Manager Mckean decides to let starter Burnett pitch to Houston's only Hot batter this day, in Olando Palmeiro (1 hit and 2 RBIs), with 1 out and a man on 3rd...That decision turned out to be a mistake as Palmeiro was able to hit a sacrafice fly deep enough to score in Houston's only other run, taking a 2-0 lead....This was all the room the Rocket needed to continue working his magic, until he handed it over to the Astros other future All-Star Closer in Lidge...Who, then recorded his 6th save of the year, by preventing the Fish from scoring the tieing and winning run...something he failed to do at Pitt 5 days earlier, when he gave up 2 HRs to blow the save and win for them....Well, Mama said their will be days like this, there will be days like this...My Mama said....So I will stop the crying here..

Still, even with this set-back..today wasnt a total lost as my other Top Rated Play I posted on the Giants brought Home the Bacon to make up for it...That was Sweet!

Also, my other MLB TOP RATED PLAYS released today on "BIG MONDAY" ended with a combined 4W-2L Record ...So we still came out on the Winning End ....Below is the rest of my Top Rated Plays I also released today.

        Comp Play for Super Tuesday

        **TOP RATED PLAY ON:

        Florida -153

Ok so Houston won their second Road game of the year, big fuckin deal!...They are still 2-14 combined on the road this year, and this last win they had a Hall of Fame pitcher, with a ridiculous 1.10 ERA and a .96 WHIP, doing the majority of the work on defense...Today however, will be a wee bit more different and a wee bit more difficult to duplicate...Below is some reasons why..

Reason # 1: Houston sends their young RHP Backe to the hill, where he has a 2-2 record and a 6.81 ERA in his 6 starts so far on the year...He is also 0-2 in his last 3 road starts this year, with a whopping 9.72 ERA and 1.861 WHIP also...In fact, he has given up 15 runs in his last two road games....And more specifically, in his last road start on Thursday vs Atlanta, he allowed 7 runs on nine hits in alittle over 5 innings on the mound, which led to a 9-3 loss...In Backe's last 3 games he went 1-2 with a 9.87 ERA, giving up 19 ERs on 28 hits in just 17 1/3 innings...Not Good!....This year, the Astros have won all of Backe's home games but has lost all of his road outings...Todays game is again in Florida...Plus, this will be Backe's first ever start versus the Marlins in his career.

Reason # 2: Florida is 12-7 vs RHPs this year, averaging 4.7 rpg and .270 hitting vs them...Overall, the Marlins are averaging .270 hitting....while at Home they avg .280 avg and .348 OBP average...Florida is one of the top team in league, 6th in hitting average...while the Astros rank last in the NL in hits and HRs.

Reason # 3: Florida's starter Moehler, who comes in 1-1 with a 2.19 ERA and 1.174 in 7 appearances this year...Vs Houston, Moehler is 2-0, in 3 career starts, and has a ERA of 1.50 and a WHIP of 1.083...Key Astro hitters vs Moehler..ie, Biggio (3 for 10), Bags (0 for 10), Berkman (3 for 7), and Palmeiro (0 for 10)..

Reason # 4: Florida's BP..who currently have an ERA of 2.64 and 1.149 WHIP...but at Home their ERA is 1.07 and WHIP is .886...Solid!...Houston's BP has a 0-5 record on the road and a ERA of 3.96...However, in their last 3 games, the Astro's BP has a whopping ERA of 8.41 and a 1.67 WHIP.

Reason # 5: Florida's Defense has been stellar at Home, where they are holding opponents to just 2.5 rpg average...They are only allowing opps to average 3.1 rpg overall..and .208 hitting at the plate and .278 OBP at home....Houston only averages 3.0 rpg, .204 hitting at the plate, and .266 OBP, while they allow opponents to average 5.5 rpg and hit .276 at the plate.

-Houston in their 16 Road games has only gone deep 6 times, has 44 total RBIs, 42 walks, and 101 hits (avg of 6.3 pg)

Reason # 6: Past Stats, Trends, and Info.....

-Houston is 0-4 in Backe's last 4 Road games.
-Houston is 1-5 as a Road Dog of +125 to +150
-Houston is 0-6 on the Road when total is 8-8.5
-Houston is 1-2 in games played on Tuesday.
-Florida is 9-5 when total is 8-8.5
-Florida is 7-4 when total is 8-8.5 at Home.
-Florida is 5-0 in games played on Tuesday.
-Florida is 11-5 in Night games.
        -Florida is 12-8 vs RHPs
-Florida is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in FL.
        -Florida 9-3 after a loss.

Ok, so now the big monkey is off the Astros back and the Train is back on its tracks because of last nights win, huh?...Not So Fast My Friends...Winning last nights game with the help of the Rocket was the easy part...Hell, it was bound to happen, especially since the Rocket hasnt yet given up a run in all his starts on the road this year....But, now comes the hard part..and that is Winning back to back games on the Road...something they didnt do yet this year...something which they dont have the services of the Rocket or his clone to help them with...something which is not easy for any team to do...something that a team like the Astros, who are struggling in all phases, except phase Clemens, their last 16 road games, will find it hard to do....something which now must be done while facing a angry Florida team who has dropped 3 of their last 5 games of late....and something which basically wont happen with a Road weary pitcher like Backe at the helm....Houston, thank Roger and enjoy the win...cause tonight you get sent right back to being the Kings of the Road Ding-A-Lings...... All "SASHIMI" Tonight Baby!

-If you want to get the Rest of the My Best Plays...contact me and lets get to Rockin!...GL and Aloha CC.

          UPDATE:

Florida Wins 6-2 ov Astro's! ...Now ENJOY this one.

~2nd Comp Play for Late Night Tuesday:

          **TOP RATED PLAY ON:

          SF -111

-Sometimes there are teams that just seem to own another team no matter where and when they face eachother...Well, that has been the case with the Giants over the Pirates of late...But, looking a little deeper into when these wins, especially this year occurred, it seems that the Giants were able to face Pitt when they were most likely headed back down following a recent win streak...In their first series at Pitt, SF faced a Pirates team who won 4 of their last 5 games...and was able to Sweep them...Now they face the Pirates again off of a current hot streak winning 5 of their last 6 games...However, this time, the Giants also catch Pitt on the last leg of their long 10 game, 3 city, road trip...The Giants have already took the first game in this series last night, and I expect them to be able to capitalize again on this timing and situations in their favor, again tonight...But, besides this, below is other reasons why I also like the Giants tonight.

The main reason for Pitts losing record so far on the year....has to do with their inconsistant offense and their poor defense...Pitt's starters have allowed the 3rd most walks, the 8th most hits, and have the 5th least K's in the Majors...Today they send a young Alaskan LHP to the hill in Williams...He currently has a 2-3 record and a 3.94 ERA...but is coming off of a solid outing leading Pitt to a 6-2 win over Arizona on Thursday...Bad news for him though, is that he must again face a Giants lineup who ate him up in the last meeting and who is feasting this year off of LHPs.

SF this year is 7-4 vs LHPs..averaging 5.3 rpg, approx 10 hits per game, hitting .292, and has a .350 OBP against them so far this year...But, the Giants this year has been consistant throughout on offense as they do average 5 rpg, .278 hitting, and .351 OBP overall...something Pitt cannot claim the same...Vs LHP's the Giants overall average .304 hitting at the plate...295 in their last 10 games...and .337 average hitting at Home against them....Pitt, on the other hand, vs LHPs are averaging just .243 against them....276 in the last 10 games...and .263 on the road vs them..

Here is some current rankings between the two on offense....SF ranks 4th in the league with a batting average of .278...Pitt ranks 8th from the bottom with a low .247....SF ranks 9th in runs...Pitt ranks 3rd to last in run production....SF ranks 7th in Hits....Pitt ranks 6th to last in hits....SF ranks 9th in RBIs....Pitt ranks 4th to last in RBIs...SF ranks 2nd in the league in OBP with their .353....Pitt is ranked 5th to last with their OBP of .313....and lastly, SF ranks 11th in SLG at .422....Pitt SLB % is .390.

Pitt averages 3.1 rpg, .247 hitting, and .309 OBP overall on the year...Vs LHP they avg 4.5 rpg and .253 hitting...Tonight they face a 42 year old veteran in Fassero, who is making his first start of the year...Fassero, in the relivers role has 2.77 ERA in 13 appearance this season...In these games combined, batters are averaging .233 against him...Over his career so far, Fassero has a career ERA of 4.09, with a rec of 116-116, and 17 complete games...He is coming to the end of the road and this may be his last chance to prove that he is worth being in the starting rotation...And he couldnt have asked for a better opponent to face tonight in then the Pirates...Fassero has been quite good against the Pirates in his career, going 6-4 with a 2.75 ERA...He is also 1-0 when starting against Pitt with an ERA of 3.97 and a WHIP of 1.279...And his teams record is 3-1 in his starts against them..
Williams, on the other hand, hasnt has to much success vs the Giants of late...In his first meeting with them at Home on April 30th...he gave up 5 ERs, on 6 hits, in just 5 innings...ending in a 7 to 6 Pitt loss...Williams, in his career has struggled mightily against the Giants, going 0-1 with a 9.95 ERA...and a WHIP of 2.062....Plus his team has a 0-2 record in his starts against the Giants.

*Some Stats, Trends, and Info favoring the Giants tonight...

          -Pitt 4-6 vs LHPs.
          -Pitt 8-11 in Night games.
          -Pitt 13-18 playing on Grass.
          -SF is 7-4 vs LHPs
-SF 12-6 vs teams with losing records.
-SF is 4-2 their last 6 Home games.
-SF is 5-2 the last 7 vs Pitt.

Tonight, I gotta go with the veteran Fassero, who has his career to play for...This is his final chance to make the starting lineup and with his past success vs Pitt and also with a solid offense to back him up...He should be able to get it done...Dont know if it will be enough to crack the starters rotation for SF...but he should have enough to crack this Pitt team who may be on a downward slide, after going on another short hot run...Pitts inconsistancy at the plate could find some success vs Fassero, but there lack of defense on the mound and in the field is what should again allow SF to prevail again for their 5 th straight win over them....Go Giants!
