Adding Late Night Comp Play for Super Tuesday:

-Tonight I will side with local Hawaiian Jerome Williams who will take the mound for the Giants against the Padres Lawrence....Two things or Facts, which I like in this matchup here, is that Lawrence has struggled throughout his career vs the Giants...whereas Williams has owned the Padres in his career so far....In fact, Lawrence vs the Giants has a career record of 2-4 with a 4.73 ERA in his 13 appearances, 11 of which he started, against SF...Williams, on the other hand, in his 5 career starts vs the Padres has posted a record of 3-1 with a Solid 1.87 ERA, and is currently on a 3 game winning streak vs them to boot...In addition, it seems that not only does Lawrence struggle against the Giants, but he also is struggling at Petco Park where he has a poor lifetime record of 5-10 in 17 starts there...Talk about home field advantage in reverse...lol.

The last starts for both pitchers also ended with very different results...as Lawrence had a rough outing on Wednesday vs the Cubs where he lasted just 2 2/3 innings, giving up 7 runs on 9 hits, resulting in a 8-3 loss....And Williams, although still looking for his first win of the season, had a super performance vs the Rockies on April 9th, where he went 7 innings, giving up just 1 run on 5 hits, and striking out 5..
The Padres offense came alive vs the Giants last night getting 7 runs on 10 hits...while the Giants could only produce 2 runs off of 8 hits...But, last night the Padres had the advantage of facing a shitty Tomko, who is 0-3 with a ERA of 6.75, and has given up 9 walks to just 5 K's, so far this year...While the Giants faced the Padres solid Righty in Peavy, who is 2-0 with an awesome ERA of 1.31, and who also has record 26 K's with just 4 walks allowed on the year so far...In tonights game, it is the Giants who has the advantage with Williams on hill against the Padres Lawrence.

Plus, I like the fact that although SF's Bonds and Alou are still on the DL, there offense at the plate has stepped up to lead the Majors with a .295 average, and also are only behind LA in the NL in run production...The Padres, on the other hand, are ranked 26th in the Majors in batting average...And, the Giants also are ranked 5th in the League in hits, while the Padres rank 25th..

Lastly, if you look at both teams last 5 games played, the Giants although failing to string back to back wins, they still have continued to produce offensively scoring in every one of the last 5 games for a combined 28 runs....While the Padres, in their last 5 games, have only been able to score in 3 of those games, being shut out in two games vs the Dodgers, for a combined total of just 13 runs...of which more than half this amount came in last nights 7 run win over the Giants.

Bottom line here, is the Giants have the better stud on the mound in Williams...Who presently has found alot more success against the Padres, than the Padres Lawrence has had against the Giants...not forgetting also, that he hasnt found much success either when pitching at Petco Field....The Giants also have the more consistant offense at the plate that should find its mark against Lawrence, while the Padres offense should go dorment enough tonight for Williams to pick up his first win of the year...I like Williams and the Giants to get back to the win column tonight....GL and Aloha CC.

Comp Play for Thirsty Thursday on:

CWS -106

-Buehrle has gone 8-5 lifetime with a 2.63 ERA in 15 appearance (14 starts) vs the Tigers....He is also coming off of a solid complete game vs Seattle, allowing just 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 12...Solid!

Tigers send Bonderman to the hill today...who is just 2-3 vs the WSox's with a 4.82 ERA in his 6 starts vs them...On top of his struggles vs the Sox's, Bonderman has also been struggling at Comerica Park as well...He is just 9-15 lifetime with a 5.18 ERA in his 31 career starts in this park..

WSox's Hot right now and own the AL's best record at 11-4...One reason for this success is their solid play on the Road where they are currently 5-2, and also their dominance over their divisions opponents, posting a 9-3 record over the other AL Central teams...

Detroit on a two game losing streak after winning 3 in a row...and a major reason for this is their lack of offense which seems to have cooled off...In their 3 game winning streak they scored a total of 26 runs, but only have score just 5 in the past two...Not Good.

Today I like the WSox to get their 4th straight and the Sweep of the Tigers...Go White Sox!...GL and Aloha CC.

Comp Play on Thirsty Thursday on:


Houston -141


-Pettitte is looking for his first win...and with the way the Astros are hitting of late, I see him finally getting that run support he needs to get it....Today vs the Brewers, it will be his first time facing them since 1997 when he was with the Evil Empire, so advantage to him....

The Brew Crew sends another lefty to the hill in Davis, who got worked over by the Cards on Saturday, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits...2 of which were HRs, in ONLY 4 1/3 innings....Not good way to come into this game against a team which he has gone 1-5 lifetime against in 9 tries.

Milw has lost 6 straight and 7 in their last 8 games overall....And, they have also lost 8 of their last 9 games vs the Astros (Houston won the series 13-6 over Milw last season)...which includes 6 straight at Minute Maid Park....Not Good!

Houston has struggled at the plate before their current 2 game win streak...But, the Brewers have been struggling on offense for some time now...They are currently ranked last in the Majors in batting average with .222...In addition to their struggles at the plate, when they do get on base, they have been passive in their play moving the runner via stolen bases...Currently they have the 3rd fewest SB's in the Majors...whereas Houston, on the other hand, is doing an excellent job moving runners on base, and they lead the Majors in SB's with a total of 19...

On Weds, the Astros opened up a whooping on Milw's Ace Sheets, tagging him for 9 hits and 6 runs (4 earned) in 6 innings...If they can do that to Sheets, then Davis should be no problem today...The Astros in their last two wins have tallied 19 hits and 11 runs beating Alt and Miw...The Astros do their damage at Home where they are currently 6-2 on the year, and where they are hitting .285 at the plate overall...and also .324 vs Lefties at Home....Oh Boy!.

The Astros pitching at Home has also been superb, as starters have an ERA of 2.40...While their solid Bullpen has a ERA of 1.87 overall on the season...and 1.00 ERA in their last 3 games...This is simply not good news at all for Milw who in their last 10 games is averaging ONLY .206 hitting, leading to a 2-8 record as well....Oh Boy!

Astros get the Trifecta Win total and the Sweep of the Brew Crew today..

Yesterday, on Aloha Friday , we split out going 1-1....But, ATLANTA -107 w/ Hampton brings Home yet another Comp Play Winner for everyone again....ATLANTA was also my only TOP RATED PLAY selection I released on Aloha Friday , and their Solid Win gave us an overall winning $$$ day.


That Win also continued the solid momentum created by these plays...as they continue to KICK ASS! ....So far this week, M-F, my TOP RATED PLAYS I released in the NBA & MLB action has produced a 13W-5L= 72.2% Combined Record. (NBA 4-0= 100%....MLB 9W-5L= +6.54 Units).....SOLID!


Everyone here, at Bettorschat, had several opportunities to See and Sample what these TOP RATED PLAYS with their indepth Write-Ups/Game Analysis are capable of doing...In fact, this week, I posted 6 MLB-TOP RATED COMP PLAYS, right in this thread (2 on Tues, 3 on Thurs, & 1 on Fri), that did Major Damage again, going 5W-1L= +8.00 Units (83.3%)..for those who was smart enough to Hit them Hard along with the rest of Us..
