    *BGP-RECORDS UPDATE:

That rare loss with Pitt as my BGP-UNDERDOG GOW, brings my current "BIG GAME PLAY"--YTD RECORD in All Major Sports combined (2003-present) to 42W-17L-1P= 71.2%. (all plays DOCUMENTED at the **, Bettorschat, and/or Cover*.)

    -CBB BGP 2003-Present Rec: 19W-5L-1P= 79%.

-BASEBALL BGP (MLB & NCAA) 2003-04 Final Rec: 7W-3L= 70%.

    -FOOTBALL BGP (NFL & NCAA) 2003-Present Rec: 16W-9L= 64%.

    ================================================== =========
"BIG GAME PLAYS" --YTD REC: 42W-17L-1P= 71.2%.
(All Major Sports Combined, and all DOCUMENTED!)

Recap: Pitt started off on a strong run, but Nova's shooting 52% from behind the Arc, and 75% from the line in the game...proved to be to much for this Panther team, with early foul trouble, to match in the end...Nova's G Ray went off, hitting five 3 pointers and scored 21 pts in the second half...put to much distance and also halted several 2nd hf runs by the Panthers...In addition, Pitt's early foul trouble didnt help any, as their 2nd leading scorer Troutman, had to sit the majority of the first half, allowing Nova to go on a run after being down early...Troutman who averages over 15 ppg and over 8 rpg, ended the day scoring just 8 pts and grabbing just 4 rebs...His lack of offensive contribution definately was another reason for the Panthers losing this one, as early foul trouble took his scoring and defensive play out of the game.

Pitt though, did lead on the boards and had an edge overall on the offensive boards, while also shooting better than 50% from the field...However, Nova's HOT shooting from behind the Arc at 52%, and their 75% FT shooting down the stretch, proved to be enough to get the 2 pt cover ATS, and an 8 pt win.

Oh well, like someone said..on paper this one looks like all Pitt, which it did...but the intangibles like who will get the Hot Hand, who will turn the ball over more, and who will commit more fouls or get into foul trouble, are things which no one can accurately predict with any type of certainty...But, it is something that can and will change the complexity of the game from being in your favor, to working completely against you the majority of the time...These unpredictable intangibles is something that when they do show up, you just hope they show up benefitting the side your on...Unfortunately, today they worked against us in this game.

Anyways, a loss sometimes is to be expected especially after I have been kicking the Man's Ass for so long and in all sports combined these past two seasons, with these BGP's of mine...In fact, my "BIG GAME PLAYS" are still up over 71% Winners Overall in All Major Sports Combined since 2003, and I aint about to stop adding more Winners to this Record just yet...So make sure you stay tuned as I always bounce back Big Time off a rare "BIG GAME PLAY" loss, with several BGP Winners...BELIEVE ME!...Till next time, keep Rockin-N-Rollin and gettin the Cash!...Aloha CC.

    comp play on: Iona -2

    **TOP RATED COMP PLAY ON:

    IONA -2

Yes, Iona's Soliver is out of this one...one thing about him is that he was 3rd in scoring, but he also averaged 5.5 rebs as well per game...But, he was also one of their worst shooters from the field, hitting just 38% FG's...In the first game, he shot 36% from the field, going 4-for-11....Iona, will need their other big guy in Hensen to step up and fill this void...He has proven in several games this year to be able to do this for them...

Marist, however, will also be without their 4th leading scorer and 2nd leading rebounder again in Soph Stilphen (9.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.7 apg) due to his back injury....Stilphen played in the 1st meeting between the two and he had a solid day scoring 14pts and led the team with 10 rebounds, in McClurkin's absence...Stilphen also is their best FG shooter averaging over 50% shooting from the field..and he also recorded 4 double doubles this year as well..

If Stilphen was able to play in this one, along with McClurkin...then I say that Marist would definately have the advantage with these two grabbing an average of over 7 rpg each and they would of given Iona's Jensen and Henson a good matchup which, would of favored Marist, especially with Soliver being out of this one....But with Stilphen out, Iona again has an opening to dominate the boards, thus allowing their perimeter players to guard against Marist's Whittington from getting good open shots from behind the Arc...Also, this advantage down low for Iona, should then open up more looks for the Gaels long ball threat in G Burtt, who can do damage to any team with his long range accuracy.

In the first game, Iona's Burtt led all scorers with 24 pts and hit four 3 points and went 8-8 from the line as well...Marist did hit eleven 3 pointers in this game, but that wasnt enough as Iona had 6 players score in DD's to Marist 4..and they shoot 76% from the line, compared to Marist shooting just 68% ...Still, the last game was won in the paint where Iona had a 43 to 30 rebounding edge and also a 15 to 7 offensive reb edge...Plus, Iona who is 1st in block shots pg in the conf, had 5 blocks on the day...

IMO, I dont think that Iona's will struggle without Solivers absense...they still have the main weapons in Burtt and Jenkins putting up the bulk to the points...and McCullough is capable of running the court...Iona is 1-0 this year on a neutral court...

Also, Iona's Jensen and Henson are the conference best FG % shooting duo...Jensen # 1 shooting 55% and Jenson # 2 shooting 54% FG.....Iona also is ranked 1st in FG% Defense in the conf...3rd overall in Scoring Defense...and have the edge in FT shooting ranking fourth with a 70% average to Marist 6th ranked and 68% FT shooting....Iona's Burtt is ranked 2nd in FT % shooting in the conf, with his 85% from the line...and this could turn out to be a huge edge for the Gael's down the stretch, just like it was in the first game where he went 8-for-8 from the line.

I feel that Marist over-achieved early on in the season, when they went on their 6 game win streak...and since their lost to Iona, which ended it...It seems to me that their losing the next 5 of 6 was not entirely due to McClukins absence...but because they could no longer keep up the play which overachieving and undermanned teams usually cant...and thus they return back down to earth and reality of being no better than a middle of the pack team....GL AND ALOHA CC.

        Update:...TOP RATED COMP PLAY w/ WRITE-UP...brings Home the $$$!.....

That was an exciting game no doubt...I expected that with this game vs Marist and their nationally ranked long distance shooter in Whittington, possibly lighting things up...Iona's G Burtt, who also can drain it from downtown would be called upon to get the bulk of the shooting plays, as he is the Gaels best and most active scorer in the backcourt...Today, he definately didnt disappoint...as he led all scorers with 38 pts, drained 4 three pointers..inaddition, his clutch 85% FT shooting proved to be the difference down the stretch, as he went 12 of 14 from the line....Simply Money Baby! ...Anyways, that was a Solid way to start the day and the Week off...I still got the my Best Plays for today on Big Monday, waiting to go off...and one of them may possibly be upgraded to another "BIG GAME PLAY" selection.

Either way, I will be releasing some Super Solid Selections, which one of them will be on the ESPN TV games going off tonight...There is no need to hesitate or question whether to come on board or not....I will provide you with an indepth Write-Up and Big Game Analysis,, just like the one posted above...which will show you exactly why I like this play so much and why I feel it is a solid game to Bank Big On Once More!

Dont miss out, on these BAD BOYS!... BIG MONDAY=BIG $$$....GL and Aloha CC.

              WILD WED'S "BGP"-RESULTS UPDATE:

**"BIG GAME PLAY"--REVENGE GAME OF THE MONTH selection on:

              MINNESOTA -3 (65-57 WINNER!)

Iowa first lost its most productive player in G Pierce..and I seriously thought that this team still had the talent to respond strong without him, giving them a good chance at still reaching the NCAA Tourney....Well, after that lost to lowly Purdue and then to Illinois at home, their dreams of making to the dance is now long gone...Poof, just as fast as they felt it to be a reality..took even shorter for them to see it all disappear...This Hawkeye's team just doesnt have enough and lacks the time needed to replace a star player like Pierce was....He provided them to much in way of consistant scoring and also in consistant defensive play...Inaddition, the other things he brought to this team (rebounding, assists, steals) with his talented athletic abilities he possessed simply cannot be made up, and this is the reason why this Iowa team is headed downwards fast...This is the numbers that Pierce averaged per a game....17.8 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 4.2 apg, and 2.4 spg...BIG LOSS!

Minny, on the other hand, with their win over # 20 Wisconsin and then with Ohio St, in their last game, has given themselves a legitamate chance of getting to the Big Dance this year...and where they havent been to in the last 6 years with Coach Monson at the helm....So this game is a Huge Game, no doubt about it!...Still, before we go on..I saw where others were commenting about the fact that Minny has loss 3 of their last 4 games and that they only won by 2 pts in their last game with Ohio St, doesnt say much about them....Well, after looking at those last 3 losses...I feel that the 1st loss to NW was mainly in part to the Hangover Effect, which they suffered after their big upset of Wisconsin..and their poor and sloppy play, where they committed an uncharacteristic 23 turnovers and shot just 39% from the field proves this....The next 2 losses they had were then on the road at surging 4th placed Indy and then at #10 Michigan St...so they were expected to happen, imo....But, their last win at home over Ohio St, was a solid win for them eventhough the score board only showed them winning that one by 2pts...If you look closer, you will see that Minnesota completely dominated that game in almost every category..ie, rebs 38 to 20, blocks 8 to 2...and their defense stepped up and continued to play solid holding Ohio St to just 50 pts, 35% shooting from the field, and only 31% from behind the Arc...while they shot 43% from the field...In that game, Minny took a 5 point lead into the half and held the Buckeyes to a season low of just 19 pts in the first half...and in the 2nd hf they were able to push their lead up as much as 12 pts before they ended up going cold down the stretch...Still though, it was a win and the numbers behind it show a solid effort on the part of a team playing with a lot of heart...and that is important in this time of the season....as now every game for them has a lot of meaning....something which the past games this late in the year didnt have..

In Iowa's last 5 games (with no Pierce) they have gone 1-4 ATS and SU, averaging just 65 ppg, while allowing opponents to score 68.4 ppg...Their only win during this span was at Home over NW, who still was able to shoot 50% from the field, record 13 steals and 5 blocks against them in the lost...Iowa can and should have beaten this undersized and undermanned NW team by a lot more and in a more convincing way...but, without Pierce to give them that strong consistant scoring and defensive play..they are struggling and their recent output, lacking the ability to close a game out or blow a game out has proven this...But to make matters worse for them is that they must hit the road again, someplace even with Pierce in the lineup they have struggled going 0-3...Today's game on the road at Minny without him, just doesnt look good at all, especially after they lost that one very winnable and very meaningful game at 3-10 Purdue...Oh Boy!

Taking a closer look at Iowa's last 3 games, where they have gone 1-2...eventhough their frontcourt has been able to play solid outrebounding all 3 of their last opponents...they have shot a lower % overall in all 3 games, and the struggles have been coming from the backcourt play...More critically for them, is that the Hawkeyes backcourt has committed far to man turnovers then previously committed...It seems teams have been able to scout them in their first two games playing without Pierce and found an effective way to further disrupt their play or Iowa's players, primarily their backcourt, is trying to hard to fill the void that Pierce's departure left...Whatever the case maybe...it is evident that this once highly touted backcourt of the Hawkeyes, cannot function without their floor leader and the third piece their trio, in Pierce, and their sloppy play the last 3 games shows major signs of this...For instance, in the last 3 games Iowa has committed 51 turnovers to opponents 32..approximately 7 more TO's per a game...But, it is to be noted that 40 of those 51 turnovers have been committed by their guards....Now, I know that Pierce had the tendency of committing a lot of TO's himself each game....but, he did more than make up for them with his scoring, rebounding, assist, and also his league leading steals he had per a game....

However, now that he is no longer their to handle the rock the most, his young backups in Soph Henderson and Fr Reed, who both now also have more playing time then usual, has been showing their inexperience by committing 17 turnovers in the past 3 games...This is big, not only because it just adds more problems for the Hawkeyes...but because these two guards have only averaged 10 pts, 5 rebs, and 2.6 assist, during this 3 game span....Plus, making matters worst is that Pierce's other two starting guard companions in the backcourt, Horner and Haluska, seem to be trying to do to much or is being asked to do to much and it has led to them committing the most turnovers the last 3 games with 22 turnovers combined....Whatever the case may be...it is definately obvious that the other backcourt players, including the starters are not able to handle effectively their transitions and added roles now that Pierce is gone...They seem to be clearly out of sync and going on the road is not where teams in disarray usually find a cure...Minnesota, is ranked first in the conf in steals with a 9.3 spg average and they have 4 players ranked in the top 10 in the conf in this category as well...Iowa's current turnover problems plus Minny's ability to steal them...further leads me to believe that this Hawkeyes team are in big trouble..

In Iowa's first game against Minny back on Jan 15th...where they won by just 6 pts...This is what Iowa's Pierce contributed in the win over the Gophers...He led all Hawkeyes with 18 pts, grabbed 8 rebs (2nd best), 2 assists, and also had 2 steals...not to mention playing outstanding defense as he shut down Minny's top scorer and the Big Ten's leading points scorer overall, in Jr G-F Grier...Pierce's suffocating defense held him to just one shot and only 6 pts..after Grier came into that game averaging 17+ ppg....Now that Pierce is not playing...who will be able to stop Grier from going off in his House?....The news just keep getting worse for the Hawkeyes doesnt it...lol.

A positive outcome of this first game between the two, was that Minny's Big Man 7 ft 270 lb Sr Center Hagen, their 2nd leading scorer, was still able to be effective against the Hawkeyes, putting up 15 pts and grabbing 12 rebs (6 offensive)...not to mention getting a lot of Iowa's big guys in foul trouble in the process...Purdue's Center Landry dominated the Hawkeyes down low putting up 29 pts and grabbing 7 rebounds in the win...Looks like another big day coming for this big boy, playing in his last ever Home game as a Gopher....This is a quote that Hagen made in a news article regarding this game and his chances in the NBA..he stated that having the chance to play in the NBA is good, but his goal and dream was being able to play for his hometown team the Minnesota Gophers...Tonight will be his last chance to play in front of his hometown fans and on their home floor...so I am expecting a big game coming from this big man...No doubt!....Other positives coming from that first game with the Hawkeyes was that Minny as a team was able to out board them 39 to 36 and 12 to 8 on the offensive end...And, they only loss by 6 pts eventhough they only shot 33% from the field, 28% from behind the Arc, and 66% from the line..while also committing 20 turnovers in the process...this says a lot about their ability to keep fighting hard and playing solid defensively...

Well, in that early first game with Minny, Iowa had all the motivation, focus, and energy on their side..as that night was a special day for them as they honored there 1980 Final Four team...not to mention they were also coming into this game off of two conference losses as well and needed to right the ship fast..and the Gophers provided seemingly the perfect opponent to do just that as they came in riding a 10 game winning streak and were ripe for the pickings....Iowa got their win over the Gophers, but it was with Pierce in the lineup...but, they were lucky as this Gopher team kept fighting all game long and was even able to hold the Hawkeyes without a field goal in the final 10:45....Today, without Pierce and with this one being at Minnesota, I seriously dont see any luck happening again for this Hawkeye team....Today, the situations and motivations this time lies entirely with the Gophers...

*SOME SITUATIONAL AND MOTIVATIONAL EDGES: favoring the Gophers today.

-This game is for not only Revenge for their earlier lost to the Hawkeyes, which ended their 10 game winning streak...This one is for Triple Revenge for last years sweep as well...Today, the Gophers get their payback.
-This will be the last regular season Home game for the Gophers, and especially for their 3 starting Seniors in Hagens, Robinson, and Lawson...all of whom worked their way up to help this Minny team be in the position their are in today....and the fans will surely pack the House to show their appreciation for these guys and I expect that they will come out inspired and fired up even more putting on one last big show for them....This will be in the words of Minny's Coach, a very sentimental and emotional night for everyone affiliated with Minnesota basketball.
-This game is very important for Minnesota to not let slip out of their hands as they still have a good chance of making it to the Big Dance....they are on the bubble, but the door is open for them to walk on through...So with all of these things in line for the Gophers, I cant see why they dont put out the biggest effort of the season in this game tonight....This team wasnt expected to finish above anyone this year..but look at what these accomplished...This team went 3-13 in league play last season and was a team that had a lot of infighting and bickering amongst the players, plus they lost notable players like Humpheries...Thus starting the year with one highly touted player in Grier..and a bunch of no names players like C Hagens, who was a walk-on...and 5-10 Sr G Robinson who was called upon to run the floor this year...Still look at what these guys were able to do...This show and tells me that these guys have a lot of heart and they play with a lot of pride...They are fighters who fight hard cause the odds are against them...Well tonight nothing about their style of playing hard with a lot of heart and pride wont change any....but what they will be facing a once highly touted, once nationally ranked Iowa team, who recorded wins over teams like Louisville, Texas, and TT....but, who is coming in off an emotional game vs Illinois at Home, and with no more dreams of finally getting to the Big Dance under Coach Alford...and who now is the one that is RIPE FOR THE PICKINGS!

*SOME OTHER STATS, TRENDS, AND INFO: favoring the Gophers today.

-Minny is #1 in the conf in Steals w/ 9.31 pg.
-Minny is #3 in conf in Rebounding Margin......Iowa ranks 6th.
-Minny is #4 in conf in FG% averaging 47%
-Minny is #5 in conf in FT% at 72%....Iowa ranks 7th with a 68% average.
-Minny is #6 in Scoring Defense in the conf allowing opps 63.3 ppg.....Iowa is ranked 10th in this category.

-Iowa is 1-3 ATS their last 4 games as a Road Dog of 3 pts or less.
-Iowa is also just 2-6 SU their last 8 games as a Dog.
-Iowa is 1-4 ATS and 0-5 SU this year in Wednesday games.
-Iowa is 4-10 ATS vs good defensive teams allowing 64 pts or less.
-Minny is 7-3 ATS as a Favorite this year.
-Minny is 13-3 SU and 7-4 ATS in Home games this year.
-Minny is 7-2 ATS and 9-2 SU in games played on Wednesday.
-Minny is 10-5 ATS vs teams with a winning record.

-And again, Iowa lost their most productive player in G Pierce who was averaging 17.8 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 4.2 apg, and 2.4 spg., not to mention ranking 3rd in scoring avg in the conf, 5th in assist, 18th in rebounding, and 1st in steals..Huge Loss!.
-But, Minny still has their most productive player in Jr G-F Grier who is now 3rd in scoring average in the conf, but first in total points scored overall...He is also ranked 13th in rebounding, 5th in steals, and 9th in FT% with 78% average...which is important since he is also leads the league in most FT attempts this season...

Well, I think that is enough to back up my play on Minnesota....Tonight the Gophers get their Revenge before a sold out House playing their last Home game of the season....Big night for Gopher basketball tonight...and the players will be extremely focused and motivated to get this win in a big way today.....This day belongs to the Gophers as they make there run towards the Tourney and March Madness....With that said, take Minnesota -3 as a "BIG GAME PLAY"--REVENGE GAME OF THE MONTH selection...GL and LETS GO GET EM!...ALOHA CC..

ps..Sorry no time to edit this book..so please excuse the grammatical errors, etc.

                            FYI:...Super Saturday's "BGP"-Result....

"BIG GAME PLAY"--GAME OF THE WEEK selection on:

MONTANA ST -4 (EZ 85-61 BLOWOUT WINNER!)

E Wash comes into this one losing their last 6 of 7 games....while Montana St comes in on a three game losing streak...Big difference here between the two is that one is solid at Home, while the other stinks badly on the Road this year....Guess Who That Is?....The Eagles have now lost 11 of their last 13 Road games this year..and is a big reason for this team sitting near the bottom of the conf standings...This game today, will be their second straight Roadie for them off of a heartbreaking loss by 2 pts to Montana on Thursday,..which if they won could of secured them the final spot for this upcoming Big Sky tourney...Now, even with a win or a loss today, this Eagle teams tourney hopes will still be up in the air, as several different scenerios could affect their chances...Talk about more stress for the Eagles with this kind of uncertainty.

Anyways, both teams come into this game off hard fought emotional losses...as Montana St also loss to the Big Sky's regular season Champs, Portland St, on Thursday by 6 pts in OT...That loss surely had to sting the Bobcats not only cause it extended their losing streak to 3 games, but it also occurred on their floor as well....Tonights matchup though, the difference and advantages will be fully on the side of the Bobcats in this one...And playing their last regular season game in front of their fans and again on their court, where I am sure they will be motivated to not lose this last game..should help keep them focused and motivated throughout.....For E Wash, the Road just hasnt given them any luck lately whatsoever...as it seems no matter what they do, they just cant get over the hump..ie, only losing by a combined 3 pts in their last two Road games....One major reason for this, has been the lack of consistant support on the offensive end by the other Eagle players, to F Axton, who is realied upon to do to much by himself....He has been the only Real Eagles threat on the Offensive end, and although he is a legitamate threat at that, opponents have been simply keying up on him.... Axton, is the only E Wash player this season to average in double digit scoring this year...and this is why the Eagles have only been averaging 62.6 ppg, which ranks them dead last in the conf in Scoring Offense....Not Good!

Montana St, on the other hand, has 3 players who are averaging in double digit scoring this season...Jr F Jefferson leads the team in scoring, averaging 12.6 ppg...as well as in rebounding with his 7.2 rpg average....He is followed by Jr G Jefferson who averages 12.5 ppg and also leads the team in steals with 41 on the year....His partner in the backcourt in G Miller is 3rd with 11.7 ppg...and he leads the team in dishing the Rock around with his 81 assist posted on the year so far....F Dissly, is a close 4th with his 9.2 ppg average and his 4.9 rpg....The Bobcats, this year, have a good balanced attack and this is why they have been able to succeed, and sit second in the conf standings at 8-5.....E Wash, simply cant say the same thing as they are struggling to find balance with their struggling backcourt...who lacks in scoring ability and production...This is what has been hurting the Eagles this season....No consistant threat from the outside, and no one to compliment or take over when defenders start doubling up on Axton, making him less effective, will always catch up to teams like these....No team can succeed when they completely depend on one man to carry the bulk of the load, and especially against good defensive and offensive teams..like these Bobcat's are....Today, I expect the Bobcats will continue to focus on keeping Axton in check, without any worries of another Eagle player hurting them in the process...Teams like the Eagles, who simply lack that balanced inside outside attack, plays right into the hands of their opponents like the Bobcats who do play balanced ball....Balance is Key...Montana St has it and E Wash doesnt....Simply Not Good News at All for the Eagles.

*SOME STATS, TRENDS, and INFO: favoring Montana St in this game...

-Montana St is 5-2 ATS in Sat games.
-Montana St is 4-1 ATS in Revenging a earlier road loss.
-Montana St is 7-3 ATS when playing against a team with a losing record.
-Montana St is 6-1 ATS when playing with one or less days of rest.

-E Wash this year, is just 3-12 on the Road this year, averaging just 62.7 ppg, while allowing its opponents to put up 72.8 ppg and shoot 48.4% from the field....
-Montana St this year, is 10-4 at Home, averaging 73.9 ppg and shooting a solid 46.9% from the field,....while they hold opponents to only 64 ppg.

-E Wash also only averaging 29 rpg on the Road this year....22 personal fouls, just 5 steals, and just 2 blocked shots.....Montana St averages 36 rpg at Home this year...while only committing 16 personal fouls, snatching 8 steals, and posting 4 blocks shots per a game..

*SOME BIG SKY CONF RANKINGS: favoring the Bobcats tonight.

-Montana St ranks 2nd in Conf in 3 pt shots made per game with 7.68 per game.
-Montana St ranks 3rd in Turnover Margin.....EWash ranks 6th.
-Montana St ranks 4th in Steals.....EWash ranks 7th.
-Montana St ranks 1st in the conf in Block Shots per game.....EWash ranks 6th.
-Montana St ranks 2nd in 3 pt FG% Defense.....EWash ranks last at 8th.
-Montana St ranks 1st in FG% Defense....EWash is ranked 7th.
-Montana St ranks 3rd in Scoring Margin.....EWash ranks last at 8th.
-Montana St ranks 1st in Scoring Defense.....EWash ranks 4th.
-Montana St ranks 5th in Scoring Offense.....EWash ranks last at 8th.

Montana St needs to win this game as they will want to secure the 2nd place standing in the conf and a 1st round bye in the Tourney as well...This is also going to be the last game of the season, so they need to break out of this 3 game skid that they are in..inorder to go into the tourney on a positive note...Plus, this game for them has a lot of meaning as they have lost to this E Wash team the last 3 times they played...and nothing would be better than to beat last years team who made it to the dance and also do it in their last game of the season in front of their faithful fans...Big Time Revenger here tonight..and a perfect way for the Bobcats to head on into the Conf Tourney, and their chance to make a run to the NCAA Tournament this year....All Montana St tonight Baby!.....So with that said, take MONTANA ST -4 as a "BIG GAME PLAY"--GAME OF THE WEEK selection....GL AND LETS GO GET EM!....ALOHA CC.
