        *FYI:...Shootout Sunday's "BGP"-Result....

"BIG GAME PLAY"--WAC REVENGE GAME OF THE WEEK on:

RICE -4 (buy .5pt) (EZ 80-61 BLOWOUT WINNER!)

Never thought I would do this, but I cant ignore the opportunity which presents itself in this game today....Hawaii, is a team that is currently on a downward spirial to nowhere...and today at Rice, they surely wont find any cure or help for them to stopping this slide....Hawaii's record fell to 14-10 overall after they suffered their third consecutive loss on Friday.....The Warriors also dropped further down in the standings, to 7th place in the WAC, with conf record of 6-9, which includes a 1-7 WAC record on the road.....They have also dropped 5 of their last 6 games with that 83-76, lost at Tulsa on Friday.....However, the 7 point loss to Tulsa was the largest margin of defeat that the Warriors suffered this season...This to me, is a bad sign that things are not going to get any better for the Warriors as long as they remain on the mainland...When you lose to the worst team in the conf, by the most points as well, thats a good indication usually that something definately is broken and needs to be fixed immediately or you will soon hit bottom....Since starting the season 8-0, the Warriors has lost 10 of the last 16 games...and most of these losses have come to the Conf better teams, by only a few points...ie, loss at Utep by 1 pt, loss at Nevada by 3 pts, loss at Fresno by 1 pt, and loss at La Tech by 1 pt...Now, if you look at the Warriors last 3 road games...you will be able to see a trend happening as they lose by 1 pt at La Tech, then by 6 pts at SMU, and lastly by 7 pts at Tulsa......Today at Rice, I can see them losing by DD's for the first time this season...and below is some of the reasons as to why I feel this might very well occur today..

First off, the Warriors are not a good team away from their Home in the Island....The Warriors do play competitive for awhile, but just like how they take advantage of opponents feeling the effects of that long trip they endured to play in Hawaii....the same can be said about when the Warriors have to make that journey to the mainland to play a game or games....This road struggle, is clearly reflected in Hawaii's poor overall record on the Road each and every year....This year, they have only been able to win 2 of the 9 games played on the mainland....Today's game will be that much more deficult as this will be the Warriors 2nd consecutive road game in the last two days for them...and past performances, where they had played in back to back road games, have shown them not faring well at all....In fact, they havent been able to split out on any back to back road games played at all this year....

Another reason, why the Warriors have faultered down the stretch in games this year...can be attributed to their poor FT shooting down the stretch or in crunch time where clutch FT shooting is a must to keep a lead, get a lead, or to extend a lead....Hawaii, on the year, is ranked 8th in the Conf averaging only 66% from the line...This poor FT shooting could of been the difference to them possibly winning all those close games...but, they have not been able to be consistant enough...Rice, on the other hand, is ranked 3rd in the Conf in FT shooting % at 71%.

Also hurting the Warriors this year, is in their poor rebounding where they are ranked 7th in the conf....This year, the Warriors were suppose to be one of the bigger more dominant teams on the boards...and they was, as they were at one point averaging 40 rpg....But, in their last 12 games played, where they went 4-8...they were out rebounded in 10 of the 12 games....On the road this year, they are only averaging 31 rpg with 9 coming on the offensive end......Rice this year is ranked 6th in Rebounding Margin...and have outrebounded there opponents in 10 of their last 12 games..a total opposite of the Warriors....In their first game in Hawaii....the Owl were able out rebounded the Warriors 31 to 28, and Harris, not only led all players in points scored, but he also led all players in rebounding as well grabbing 12 rebounds with 7 coming on the offensive end in the loss to the Warriors.

But, to me, the biggest problem is being created by Coach Wallace, who is still messing around with the lineup....I mean, c'mon their is only 3 games left to play, and he is still screwing with the lineup trying to find a working combination...So he says....I think he is doing this on purpose as he knows that everyone will need to play hard and all out if they want to secure a starting position...This is ok, but one thing which this is obviously doing is taking away from Hawaii's consistancy on the offensive end...and it seems to be disrupting any momentum which they are on the verge of building up, thus allowing the opponents to take momentum right back away from them....I dont ever recall any time, this entire year, when Hawaii, especially at Home went on a game changing run to blow the opponent out as the Warriors are known to do on their court.....Ever since they went 8-0 on the year...they have simply not been able to take control of a game from the start and dominate it to the end, closing it out with a solid win....In the recent games at Home, the Warriors has found themselves trailing at the half...and then needing to make a late game comeback inorder to get a close win....They were lucky the last game against this Rice team, as G Nash banked a dogshit 3 pointer and then was fouled, giving him a chance for a 4 pt play, and Hawaii the late lead with seconds left to play...That shot was totally lucky..and that wont happen again....Still getting back to the changes in the lineup....what I dont understand is why Coach Wallace is not starting Hawaii's best player Sensly....Nonetheless, something definately is not right with Hawaii's main man, as he is not himself lately and have been off on his shooting the past several games...In Hawaii's last 3 losses, this is Sensleys shooting stats...3-for-10 and 8 pts (vs Wisc Milw)....3-for-5 and 11 pts (vs Utep)..and 4-for-14 and 11 pts (vs Tulsa).....Most of the time, when he is off the Warriors dont do to good...

What is keeping Hawaii in most of the games is their backcourt shooting of G Sotto and G Gibson who have been putting up some big points, in the 3 losses....ie, vs Wisc Milw they accounted for 37 pts....vs Utep they accounted for 24 pts...and vs Tulsa they accounted for 44 pts in the loss....These two have definately stepped up to carry the Warriors...but as seen, it is the Warriors Frontcourt which is not matching their play...balancing it out with better rebounding and point production, especially from F Sensley....Plus, when they do draw fouls..they have not been hitting the shots from the charity line which also hurts their chances, and thus ends in another loss for them...This has gotten to be very frustrating for the Warriors...and heres a quote from G Gibson on what is going on...Hawai'i guard "Little Matt" Gibson said. "It's rebounds, free throws, same old stuff every time we lose. We're fighting hard, we're just not pulling it out."

.As for Rice, they are coming into this one off of two straight wins....and currently sit in 3rd place in the Conf...WAC player of the year candidate Michael Harris is averaging 20.2 points and 11.4 rebounds per game, both of which rank among the league leaders. In Friday's win over San Jose State, Harris scored 15 points and grabbed 18 boards. Guard Jason McKrieth, a second team all-WAC pick a year ago, is averaging 13.8 ppg and 5.5 rpg. Guard Brock Gillespie is the team leader in 3-pointers (44). As a team, the Owls are averaging 73.6 ppg and shooting a league-best 47.8 percent from the field, including 33.1 percent from 3-point range.

The WAC has just two active players with more than 1,000 career points in Division I -- and they're both at Rice. That would be Harris and McKrieth, and before the season is over they'll be joined in the 1,000-point club by Gillespie. When Gillespie reaches that mark, it will be the first time in Rice history that three teammates had 1,000 points each....Currently right now, Rice is ranked 1st in Scoring Offense averaging 74.3 ppg....they are also ranked 3rd in Scoring Margin..and 1st in FG shooting % at 47.9%...Solid!

*SOME SITUATIONAL AND MOTIVATIONAL EDGES: favoring the Owls today.

-Senior Day and Last Home Game of the year...Rice's four seniors, Walt Chancellor, Brock Gillespie, Michael Harris, and Jason McKrieth will be honored during pre-game ceremonies before tip-off vs. Hawaii. Harris with 1,880 points is 27 points shy of breaking Brent Scott's all-time scoring record of 1,906 points. McKrieth currently ranks ninth on the all-time scoring list with 1,405 points and Gillespie with 965 points is on the verge of breaking the 1,000-point mark.

-Revenge for the OT loss which, actually the Owls should of won...Bobby Nash banked in a dog shit 3-pointer with 15.5 seconds left in overtime to propel UH to a 75-72 victory over Rice. Nash was fouled on the play and his ensuing free throw put UH on top 73-72. On Rice's final possession, Michael Harris' putback attempt was short and UH's Jeff Blackett rebounded and was fouled with 1.5 seconds left..

-Today, I expect the Owls House to be Rockin as they try to send off their team with a solid win heading into the Conf Tourney...This one important to win, as right now Rice has built up a little momentum and will need to continue it if they have any chance at capturing the Tourney Championship and getting their first ever bid to the Big Dance, which this is the year they need to do it in..as next year, there will be no more Harris, McKrieth, and Gillespie....Its time to go on a run, and today the fans at Autry I see will inspire them to do just that...The sliding Warriors are simply not in the a favorable spot today facing this motivated, focused, and confident Owl team..

-The Warriors may be looking to their last two home games vs the Conf's leader in Nevada...and in hopes of being ablle to work some revenge of their own on the Wolfpack...and also on Rival Fresno St who comes up following the Wolfpack game....Those will be two big games no doubt for the Warriors...This one is as well, but I just have to believe that the Warriors dont have enough in way of confidence on the road anymore, especially after how they lost on Friday at Tulsa...That loss definately is still weighing heavily on their minds..

*SOME STATS, TRENDS, AND INFO: favoring the Owls today..

-Rice is 12-3 at Home this year...averaging 74.7 ppg and shooting 48.4% from the field, while holding opponents to only 63.2 ppg and 38.3% shooting from the field...

-Hawaii is only 2-7 on the Road this year....averaging 69.7 ppg, while allowing opponents to score 70.9 ppg..

-Hawaii is 1-5 ATS after allowing 80 pts or more.

-Hawaii is 1-3 ATS when playing a team with a winning record after 15 + games.

-Hawaii is 1-6 ATS when playing on one or less days of rest.

-Rice is 5-3 ATS their last 8 games as a Home Fav of 3.5 to 6 pts...

In their first game in Hawaii, the Warriors knocked off the Owls 75-72 in overtime...as F Jeff Blackett and G Bobby Nash each scored 20 to pace UH...This wont happen today.....But what will happen again, is Rice's Outstanding F Harris'who had 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead all players in that first game...will again have yet another solid game against the Warriors....He is unstoppable, and the Warriors dont have anyone who can stop or slow him down...They also dont have enough coming off the bench as Rice does and this could created a lot of problems for Hawaii, as Harris gets a lot of their big guys in foul trouble...McKrieth and Gillespie, I dont see allowing Hawaii's Sottos and Gibson to outplay them on their night tonight...and this could also spell big trouble for the Warriors if these two are kepted in check, especially from long range...Rice ranks 4th in the conf in FG % Defense and 5th in 3pt FG % Defense allowing opponents to only .33% from behind the Arc...The Owls only have a one-game lead in the WAC standings over Louisiana Tech, Fresno State and SMU for third place...so this one is again very important for them to get in a big way.....With that said, play RICE -4 (buy .5pt)....as a "BIG GAME PLAY"--REVENGE GAME OF THE WEEK selection...GL and LETS GO GET EM!....ALOHA CC.

*Again, please disregard the errors and grammatical mistakes...as I had no time to edit this book..

                  FYI:...BGP FOR WILD WEDS UPDATE...

**"BIG GAME PLAY"--BIG TEN REVENGE AND REDEMPTION GAME OF THE WEEK selection on:

IOWA -4 (LOSE BY 2PTS ATS) :angryfire

Last week Wednesday we Banked Big Time going against this Hawkeye's team...today, one week later, I am back on them again...CBB is about match-ups, rankings, home/away game, rivalry games, etc...but it is also about Situational Setups, which gives one team an advantage over the other...So far this year, I have been finding these situational setups very profitable indeed....My last 3 BGP-Winners, not only had the fundamental edges over their opponents, they also had the situational advantages as well...ie, Minny ov Iowa, Montana St ov E Wash, and Rice ov Hawaii....all were SWEET WINNERS who not only had the Fundamental Edges, but also the Situational Edges as well on their side....Today, I feel that the Hawkeye's has these same Edges ov the Buckeye's and that should result in them getting a win today.

Ohio St comes in with a 4-8 Road record overall this year...but only a 2-5 SU Record in Conf Road games with their only wins coming at NW and Penn St...On the road this year they are averaging 69.4 ppg, while allowing opponents to average 71.3 ppg....One area of weakness for the Buckeye's, on the Road, has been in their rebounding, as they only average 30.4 rpg game away from home...In their last 5 games though, not only did their offensive output fall dramatically by an average of 10 pts, averaging just 59.6 ppg in this span...but, their rebounding average during this span also fell under 29.2 rpg...while their opponents rebounding average went up to 36.8 rpg....Not Good!

The Buckeyes, have been able to make up for this in their shooting % as they are averaging 47% from the field and 40.8% from 3 pt land....But another weakness of theirs which have come back to hurt them, especially in close games, is their poor shooting from the line....Overall the Buckeyes are struggling at the line shooting ONLY 65.2% as a team, which ranks them 10th in the conf in this category...On the Road, this FT shooting % gets worse as they ONLY average 62% from the line...In fact, 3 of Ohio St's top scorers and players with most shot attempts all average below 65%..ie, F Dials avgs 61.1%, G Sullinger avgs 64.6%, and G Foster avgs 57.9% at the line....Also, 3 of the 4 Guard rotation which the Buckeyes utilizes all are horrible at the line....with only G Stockman averaging 80.6% at the line....The Hawkeye's, on the other hand, have 4 of their top 5 scorers all averaging over 70% at the line in F Brunner avgs 70.2%, G Haluska avgs 80%, G Horner avgs 76.9%, and C Hansen avgs 72.1% from the line...Why you may be asking is this going to be an advantage for the Hawkeye's?...Well, beside the fact that missed FT's always seem to be the difference in teams winning or losing....it is also can allow a team to keep a lead, get a lead, or extend a lead on its opponents....This is an advantage for the Hawkeye's because they average taking 23 Foul Shots per a game at Home, while the Buckeye's only average 13 attempts from the line on the Road...10 extra foul shot attempts gives the Hawkeye's a Big Advantage!

Iowa currently is 12-3 at Home this year, where they have averaged 73 ppg and only allowed opponents to average 63.2 ppg...They also have been shooting a solid 46.7% from the field, 37.6% from behind the Arc, and 71% from the line....Another advantage the Hawkeye's will have in this one over the Buckeye's in on the boards...Rebounding on the Road are another reason why the Buckeye's have only been able to record just two conf Road wins on the year...and today they go up against one of the conf's best board bangers in F Brunner...At Home, Iowa is averaging 36 rpg and 9 of which coming on the offensive end....which is almost twice the amount Ohio St is averaging on the Road this year....The Hawkeye's also are averaging more steals with 8 per game to Ohio St's 6...and they are also averaging a solid 5 blocked shots per game, which more than twice the amount the Buckeye's defense records....

In their first game played at Ohio St back on Jan 8th, 3 things contributed to that win for the Buckeye's at Home..and these 3 things that happened in that one, is three things that I dont expect to happen again in this game today....One of them was that the Buckeye's were able to outboard the Hawkeyes, by 5, 34-to-29...The second was that they were able to shoot an uncharacteristic 84.6% from the line....and the third, was that they were able to drain 12 three pointers....Today, I dont see any of these 3 things happening again, and especially not in the Hawkeye's House.

*SOME SITUATIONAL EDGES: favoring the Hawkeyes tonight...

-In the first game, Iowa was coming off of a shock at home when they lost to Michigan by 2 pts, ending their 9 game winning streak that also earned them a #14 ranking as well...It seems that this loss carried over with them to their first conf road game against the Buckeye's...who was also came into that game winning 6 of their last 7 games and who was motivated in opening up their regular season home game, against this shocked and wounded 14th ranked Iowa squad...Ohio St was coming off of a bad loss to ILL so they were fully focused because of it....whereas Iowa wasnt...and they were handed another loss because of it.....Today, I feel it is the Buckeye's who clearly are in a state of shock or dissappointment, as they had an outside chance at getting to the dance, after their big win over Indy... but they blew it losing the last two games vs Minny by 2 pts and then at Home against Wisconsin, a game they really really needed to win....Iowa, was in the same situation, but they blew their chances when they lost at Purdue...and I feel they have had enough time to realize it's going to be NIT again this year.....Whereas, the Buckeyes, could still be reeling from their last two losses...and havent yet been able to get back their complete focus on playing the Hawkeyes today..

-This will be the Hawkeyes, last regular season Home game...so I am expecting that they will want to go out with a bang for their home town fans...Iowa has been solid at Home, only losing to Michigan by 2 pts, #14 Michigan St, and #1 Illinois....Four of Iowa's five conference wins have come on the home court and Iowa's margins of victory have been six, 14, 15, 10 and 22 points...Even with the 5-9 Big Ten record, Iowa has outscored its league opponents by a 67.4-66.5 margin.
-Ohio St, maybe looking ahead to their next game at Home, on Sunday against #1 Illinois..which will be on National Television....The Buckeye's, will not be going to either the NCAA or NIT Tourney due to a self imposed ban...could be more interested in getting a shot at the nations best team, on national tv, then with playing this Iowa team whom they already beat...Possible look ahead for the Buckeye's players here...
-Revenge game for the Hawkeyes today....could be a motivating factor, especially since the Buckeye's have beaten them 4 of the last 6 times.
-This Hawkeye team is rallying behing its Coach Alford who is coming under a lot of heat for yet another year of not getting to the Big Dance...They came together in the Penn St to show him support and I expect them to do it again, inorder to help the Coaches save their jobs....This is a quote from them, "We deal with it because we're in the spotlight. We're playing for a coach that wants the best out of us, and we'll do whatever we can for him." Swingman Adam Haluska said that Alford had the complete support of his team. "The coaching staff does everything they possibly can to get us to play well," Haluska said. "It's not their fault that we lose the leading scorer. It's not their fault that some academic stuff has happened in the past."

*SOME STATS, TRENDS, AND INFO: favoring the Hawkeyes tonight...
-Ohio St ranks 2nd in 3 pt FG's made per game...Iowa ranks 5th, but they are ranked 3rd in 3pt FG % overall, and the Buckeyes rank 4th.
-Iowa is ranked #1 in Defensive Rebounds and 5th in Offensive Rebounds (but 1st in overall total offensive rebounds in the Big Ten).....Ohio St ranks 4th in Def Rebs and 10th in Off Rebs.
-Iowa is ranked #3 in Steals with 7.85 per game....Ohio St is ranked 5th.
-Iowa is ranked #1 in Blocks Shots per game with 5.67.....Ohio St is ranked last at 11th with only 2 bpg.
-Iowa is ranked #5 in 3 pts FG % Defense allowing just .344 overall...this important, as Ohio St depends a lot of the long ball..
-Iowa is ranked #2 in FG% Defense...Ohio St is ranked #3.
-Iowa is ranked 6th in FT % with 71%....Ohio St is ranked 10th with a low of 65% from the line.
-Iowa's F Brunner ranks 1st in Defensive Rebounds in the conf....and 2nd overall in Rebounding in the conf...Iowa has won the rebounding battle in four of its last five games..
-Iowa's C Hansen ranks 1st in the Block Shots per game with 2.96 average...Brunner is ranked 9th....No Buckeyes ranked in the top 10.
-Iowa's Horner is 3rd in conf in 3 pt FG made per game with 2.56....and the Hawkeyes also have two players ranked in the top 12 in the conf along with the Buckeyes in 3pt FG % in Horner(6th) and Haluska (12th)...to match up with the Buckeyes (Harris and Foster).
-Big advantage for the Hawkeyes at the Line, as they have 2 players ranked in the Top 15 in the conf in FT % shooting per game....with Haluska (6th w/ 80%) and Horner (11th w/ 77%).....OSU has no players ranked in the Top 15 in this category..
-Iowa's Horner also ranks 2nd in the conf in Assist per game with his 5.44 average....Closest Buckeye in this category is backup Fuss-Cheatham with 3.25 average.

The Keys to this one for the Hawkeyes is to contain the Buckeye's G's from getting open looks from behind the Arc...This is where they got hurt in the first game vs the Buckeyes as OSU shot 51.5% from the field and made eight three-point baskets in the first half....For the game the Buckeyes shot 47.5% from the field and 42.9% (12-28) from three-point range...Iowa shot well (50%) in the first half before falling to 40.7% in the second half. Iowa made just 4-12 (33.3%) of its three-point attempts, but did make 17-20 free throws...Ohio State won the rebounding battle by a 34-29 margin and Iowa was guilty of 16 turnovers, 10 in the first half...Dont see a repeat happening tonight at all and I like it that Iowa had Penn St to stop the bleeding they had with a solid outing ending the game shooting 52.5% from the field and 46.7% from the 3pt land...Iowa also won the rebounding battle 36-31 and had 20 assists on 32 field goals...The defense also came up with 11 steals, leading to 22 fast break points, and the Hawkeyes were guilty of just 12 turnovers while forcing 16 Penn State turnovers...For the second straight game, the Hawkeyes had just one turnover in the second half..

Wisconsin held the Buckeyes to 34.6% shooting in the second half in making the halftime margin hold up...Wisconsin also had a 37-24 rebounding advantage in the game and earned the road win despite 17 turnovers...For the game Ohio State made just 5-22 three-point attempts....And although Dials still got his points putting up 20 on the Badgers, the other Badgers were held in check as no other scored more than 8 points in the loss....This is what I see the Hawkeye's Defense doing against this Buckeye's team who have been known to live a lot from the outside, as teams focus in on stopping F Dial's down low....Teams have been doubling him and that creates openings for their backcourt to hurt you deep....Today, I see Iowa with the improved play from C Hansen and F Thomas, who is making a major contribution to Iowa's rebounding efforts, as he is third on the team with an average of 4.5 per game, contributing a lot to what Junior F Brunner, Iowa's top returning rebounder from a year ago, who is averaging 8.3 rebounds for the season and 9.0 in conference games, ranking first in the Big Ten for league games and second for all games, will bring.....He also leads the current Big Ten players with 10 scoring and rebounding doubles-doubles this season and he ranks first with 19 in his career...In Big Ten games only, Brunner ranks first in rebounds (9.0), sixth in scoring (16.1), eighth in steals (1.4), 10th in blocked shots (0.9) and 14th in FG% (.497)... F Brunner who has scored in double figures in 24 games...and is shooting 52% from the field and 70.2% from the foul line....He is also coming off of matching his career-best 14 rebounds and 14 points vs Penn St...and he also equaled a career-best of five assist....I say Brunner outplays Dial today on his floor.

With Brunner, Thomas, and Hansen keeping Dial busy down low...I have to like the improved play also from Iowa's Guards in Haluska, Horner and Henderson on the perimeter....Haluska, for one, has increased his overall production over Iowa's last seven games, as he is averaging 19 points and 5.1 rebounds, shooting 52.2% from the field, 37.1% from three-point land, and 78.8% from the FT line...In his last game at Penn St, he hit 10-14 field goals, collecting 22 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals...Jr G Horner, who has been named to the NABC District 12 second team...also is putting up some solid numbers averaging 13.6 points, 5.4 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game....And lastly, Soph Henderson, who has filled in for the dismissed Iowa Star Pierce, had an early rocky start filling in...but since, has been playing well in Iowa's last 6 games, posting a career high of 11 pts at Purdue, scoring 8 pts vs NW....while also grabbing 5 rebounds vs NW, Wisky, and Illinois...At Minnesota he added 8 pts and 5 rebounds and he had 6 pts and 3 assists at Penn State....Henderson is a solid defensive player as well...In Iowa's win over Northwestern, Henderson played a key roll in holding Wildcat guard T.J. Parker to just two points on four field goal attempts....Today, I expect these Hawkeye guards to show that they have finally adapted to playing and winning without Pierce, which is a good sign as all these guys will be back next year...But they need to win this one, in order to make sure that their coach is back as well next season...
Today, I have to side with the Hawkeyes who is playing in their last regular season home game...but also who is playing for their Coaches as well to keep their jobs....The motivation for the Hawkeyes is clear and simple, just win....For the Buckeyes though, it is not so clear...as this team really has no motivation at all in this game, which frankly has no meaning to them since they have no plans for any post season play this year....But, what does seem like a motivating game for them is their last game of the season this Sunday against #1 Illinios, a team who they have come very close to beating in the past and a team who they would like nothing more than to end the season beating, especially as that one will be on national tv as well...Today, the Hawkeyes get their Revenge and post their second consecutive win for their coaches and fans today...Take IOWA -4 as a "BIG GAME PLAY"-BIG TEN REVENGE AND REDEMPTION GOW selection.....GL and LETS GO GET EM!...ALOHA CC.

*again, please excuse any mistakes and grammatical errors, etc...as I didnt have time to edit this book...You should still be able to get the meanings, reasons, and my points, which is the only thing that matters anyways....Thxs.

                  FYI RECAP:

Aloha Gang....DAMN, UNREAL HOW THIS ONE DIDN'T COVER!....I had this one capped out perfectly...For one, I called for Iowa to hold a rebounding edge which they did at 29-24...and 10 to 6 on the offensive end...Iowa limited their turnovers to only 9, which I stated they improved upon in their last two games...Ohio St committed more TO's with 11....I stated Iowa would have an advantage in Steals which they did, recording 8 to Ohio St's 5...Iowa also had more Block Shots with 2 to Ohio St's 1...

A Big Key, or Big Advantage for Iowa, in this game was also that the Hawkeyes were a better FT% shooting team then Ohio ST was...and that this edge at the line would play a factor in to them getting the win today...Well, the Hawkeyes did their part at the line hitting 85% of their FT's...to Ohio St's poor 64% FT shooting.....They also was able to shoot the three ball just as well with their guards, which I also stated they were capable of doing...and they did, hitting 44% from behind the Arc..while limiting Ohio St to just 36%....

Buuuuut, one thing which I didnt expect or even imagined happening...was that their leading scorer, F Brunner, would only score a total of 4 pts on the day....I knew he would dominate the boards, which he did, leading in rebounds with 10 total and 5 on the offensive end....Yet, he only scored 4 total points...Three of which came via the FT line.....Which means, he only had one FG for the entire game.....WTF?...Only One Basket?

Brunners lack of scoring was definately the reason to this spread loss today....Unbelievable, especially because this guy scored in double figures in 25 of the games he played in this year...and he also is ranked 6th in the league in points per game scoring with his 15 ppg average...Still, in this game he gets 5 offensive rebs and 10 total, and ends up fouling out with only 1 basket on just five attempts....and a total of just 4pt on the day..

This lack of offensive output from him was something that I definately couldnt predict or foresee even occurring....And, I still cannot believe what actually happened...F Brunner scored 14 pts and grabbed 11 rebounds in their first game with Ohio St, so why only 4 pts, this time?....I expected and stated that the Hawkeyes G's would step up and out play the Buckeyes G's, which they did...But, with Brunner only scoring 4 pts on the day...they fell to the spread by two measely points...Unfreaken Real! :angryfire

                        Late Night Comp Play:

Tonight I have to side with the Warriors....Tonight their star player and local boy F Julian Sensley will be back in the lineup, after playing in a reserved role for the past 4 games...He is the star and leader on this team, and he is also the heart and soul of the team...and with that comes the pressure of answering to the people of Hawaii....He is the one who we all look to to turn things around and he has said he will, with tonights game...In his own words, "I'm looking at this as a brand new start for me," Sensley said. "There were reasons I wasn't playing as well as I should have been, but that's behind me now. I think people are going to see the player they saw at the beginning of the year."

Tonight the House should be a Rockin as not only is Nevada a ranked opponent coming into the islands...but the Vegas Boys has given us more motivation by installing our Homeboys as Dogs in our House...Dogs, oh boy!....Remember the last time they did this, when #33 ranked S ILL came to town and the Warriors were installed as Dogs...and they also were playing with Revenge....Thats right, the Warriors won OUTRIGHT!...In fact, that also was my first "BIG GAME PLAY"-WINNER of the season as well....Tonights game not rated as high, but I like it a lot...

Tonight is Senior Week...not Senior Night...Why?...Because following this one, we got our hated Rivals the Bulldogs of Fresno St coming into town....Oh Boy, I cant wait for that one...

Anyways, here is more words from Mr Sensley..."Physically, I couldn't do the same things I normally do, and I think that wore on my confidence," he said. "It was hard, mentally and physically, not being able to play my normal game. But I'm ready now. I'm going to be more aggressive, not having to worry about my injury." "They don't seem like a Top 25 team, but they finish games and they know how to win," "But knowing that they're in the Top 25 and in first place gives us even more motivation to knock them off."

Well, just got the call from my cousin..who does the taping up of some of the boys..along with working out with them as well....and he stated that the boys are pumped up for this one...If you didnt know by now, we hate playing on the Road...but we love playing at Home...He also said the mood is very light, as they dont have the pressure on them as much, and they have a spring in their step which he said, and I agree, they simply didnt have this the past few games...and that is why I went against them as a "BGP" on Sunday, with Rice....Hell, I never ever did that before....But, although they are still on a 4 game slide, coming home to play in Hawaii and in front of our fans, on Senior Week, as an Underdog on our floor, with Revenge, against a ranked team, against the best team in the WAC, makes this a Huge Motivator for the Warriors tonight....I am on them as well...

Sidenote: Hawaii is going with their Big Line-Up tonight (7'0 C Botez, 6'9 F Sensley, 6'8 Blackett, 6'5 G Gibson, and 6'4 G Sottos) to match up with Nevada's size....and this is the line-up which they started the season with, where they went 8-0...Luv It!

                        **TOP RATED PLAY ON:

                        HAWAII +1.5

-GL to Us and LETS GO WARRIORS....ALOHA CC
