OREGON ST -3 (58-51 WINNER!)



The Beavers come into this off of getting their Revenge over instate rival Oregon, and now they seek to avenge their embarrassing 18 pt loss to WSU back on 1-13.

WSU coming in off of an upset win at Zona where they scored the most points (70), for only the 2nd time in about a month and a half...since their lost at UCLA, where they scored 77 pts....Scoring high amounts in these two games, was definately out of the norm for WSU style of play..and there current point per a game outputs throughout the year proves this....

WSU, under Coach Bennett's slow temp style of ball control play...doesnt put up a lot of points and this is another reason as to why, on the road or at home, they are finding any real consistant winning success, especially in a league with so many high flying offensive scoring teams.

Today, they meet yet another one of them in the Beavers....who at Home are averaging 80.6 ppg...The Beavers at Home are also a solid 8-1, shooting a solid 48.3% from the field, 39.3% from downtown, and a solid 73.0% from the line....VERY SOLID STATS!

WSU, on the other hand, on the Road is only putting up an average of just 54.2 ppg, shooting just 38.9% from the field, and shooting a dismal 53.7% as a team from the line....Not to Good!....Oreg St should also find the advantage on the boards, where the Cougars, on the Road, also have struggled, averaging just 31 rpg and only 8 on the Offensive end.....The Cougars have just 2 players who average in the DD's scoring with Sr G Kelati's 13.2 ppg and Sr G Varem's 11.3 ppg....The area of rebounding which has hurt the Cougars this year, is primarily due to G Varem being their leading rebounder with and 8 rpg average...I totally believe that its never a good thing when your G's leads the team in rebs...

The Beavers counter this with 4 players who are averaging in DD scoring on the year...and 3 of them are from their frontline players, in Sr F Lucus (15.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg), Dewitz (12.5 ppg, 5.1 rpg), and Fr F Cuic (10.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg)....followed by their 3 Sr/Jr Guard rotation of Stephens, Nash, and Fontenet...All of who also contribute on the boards, with assists, and in draining the long ball....The Beavers, definately have the advantage in a balanced attack on the offensive end...No doubt about it!

Some stats, trends, and info I like in this one favoring the Beavers.

-WSU is 1-3 ATS their last 4 games as a Road Dog of 3 pts or less..
-Oreg St is 3-0 SU and ATS as a Home Fav of 3 pts or less..
-The Beavers return all 5 starters and play with a deep rotation which includes 7 Juniors or Seniors.
-The Beavers rank 4th in 3pt FG%....WSU rank 10th in this category.
-WSU ranks a poor 9th in FT%, while OSU ranks 4th in FT%..

Oregon St, needs this one to get back into the middle of the standings where there is currently a clog for 3rd....This one is at Home and infront of their fans where they have been playing very excellent ball.....I feel that this WSU team although being able to beat Zona on the Road, this was done because they caught the Wildcats off of their most physical and emotional Big Win over Conf leader Washington...and thus had the advantage in playing a hungover Zona team....Today, the situation definately favors the Beavers who are primed to go on a run and get their Revenge over the other Pac-10 teams who spanked them at their House....I love me some Beavers tonight.....Take the Beavers from Oregon St, as a "BIG GAME PLAY"--PAC-10 GOM selection.....GL and Aloha CC.
