Mort was born on April 6, 1926 in Buffalo, New York and passed away Sept 29th. He served in the marines in Okinawa in WWII. He founded "The Gold Sheet" in 1957, a nationally read sports publication that is considered #1 in the industry. His name is one of the most respected in the world of sports handicapping. He had a passion for sports, politics and charitable causes. Mort lived and died with dignity. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, altruism, love of family and tremendous kindness. Mort was an extraordinary and unique person whose enthusiasms touched the lives of many in positive ways. Mort is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sylvia; son Gary, his wife Tami; daughter Debra, her husband Glenn and grandchildren Jake, Zoey and Taylor.
