Bookmaker is part of CRIS. They're huge. If they are having difficulties it is of huge concern.

I have money in bookmaker. I have been burned before. I lost a lot when the whole BetOnSports nightmare occurred (shutdown by US government; all clients stiffed).

If the issue is merely difficulty in getting money out because of US scrutiny; that's one thing. If it's fear of being shut down, then it's another.

I have been told by bookmaker that for big clients, the best way to get money in and out is to literally go overseas to pick up and receive money. For smaller clients, that's not feasible.

What we all have to be aware of is that what we are doing is considered illegal by the government of the United States.

      I highly doubt this

In the last 3 weeks I have received two payouts totaling in the mid 5 figure range from DSI ( Which is a sister site of bookmaker..owned by bookmaker )

If it is true.. Im glad I got my money out in time without a problem

Betting online is not illegal. If that was the case then the Government would have to find prison cells for millions of USA citizens. It's illegal for one to take bets online.

I think and as others have also said, it is a gray area regarding whether the govt. deems it ok for folks to bet on line or not.
Remember most politicians want to please their constituency, and don't want to offend/piss them off in order that they will be re-elected.
The fact that as you say millions of folks gamble on line is reason enough for legislators to tip toe here.
The fact that they are going after the Offshores(I still don't think it has been done with any consistency and perseverance considering this all started in 2006 and Offshores are still operating) and not the bettors, shows the overall ambivalent atttiude of many legislators.
As I and many others have also always said, the Govt. wants its piece of the pie, and especially since money is leaving the country with the Offshores.
I think in time all parties-Offshores, Onshores(which will come into existence), bettors and the US Govt. will all reach some kind of accord in time which will please all-I call it sports gambling evolution.

There's a couple of Lawyers that have been involved in the online gambling area since all of this started back in2005. From what I remember they said it was not illegal to wager online. It was only illegal to take bets online.

As far as the Government wanting a piece of the action you might be right in the long run, but right now they don't have enough members supporting the Frank bill. Personally I think they want to be able to pass legislation that would allow all of us in the USA to wager with the Casinos in Vegas online.

What is so stupid is the billions of dollars that would be coming in each year for legalizing the offshores to allow us to play with them. Plus all of the Jobs that it would create. Most States are increasing gambling in their States, because they need the money and know most people loose.

Plus look at all of the gambling in the USA right now so our own Government are being hypocrites. And they lost their case with the WTO then appealed it only to loose again. Then they appealed it again and lost. Then they decided to just ignore the WTO ruling. If more Countries would have stayed on that bill the USA would have legalized it, but most of them were bought off.

                              Great points! I agree.
Perhaps you are right about it being ok to bet online and that Govt. is only concerned with going after Offshores.
On the other hand, if that was a known fact, why do we sometimes hear about BOTH johns and prostitutes being arrested rather than just the latter? The circumstances aren't really that much different.

If you're talking about prostitution that is a completely different area. I'm sure most States have laws regarding that.

If you're referring to rings of people that have been arrested about gambling it was, because they were taking bets etc.
