I have my primary account there and would like to know if this closing is imminent and/or whether anyone else has heard the rumor.
For obvious reasons I cannot simply call customer service and ask them if the rumor is true unless I want to hear(whether it is true or not) "No sir-there is no truth to that rumor."
I have 1500 in! I haven't seen any problem but wonder if my friend is getting spooked by this guy who works there! I am staying in, i have never had a problem with them!
I really don't think so crazy. I know an agent that formed a partnership with BM that has 50 some guys that are set up through them. He told me he seriously doubts it and to consider the source. I said I don't know the source.
I would ask your buddy more specifics before everyone starts yanking all their money out of there when they don't have to. I mean it may be true but I think we need more than HEY they are shutting down. I think they would just do it and be done. See what I am saying?
Since bookmaker and some of the other large offshores are sponsors here, how about some feedback and/or opinions from the moderators on this quite important topic!
I haven't been around, but I'm going to start making some calls about what's going on. What I've heard so far is payouts are taking longer than the 7-10 days. It's up to 10-15 days and that may have to do with the raids on the poker sites along with the payout processors.

How do we know this is really Monte?
How do we really know?
I think the title of this thread is confusing.
The issue is not whether Bookmaker is going under(highly unlikely) but whether folks in US will be able to get their funds and/or continue to bet with them because of action taken(if any)by our government.
Although I haven't requested any payouts of late, I just have a gut feeling that the Offshores will contimnue to be left alone re: internet sports gambling.
I say that because imo and long before the poker thing, the government would have taken action if they wanted to.
I think if anything they are more concerned with thinking of ways to regulate it so that they get their piece of the pie unlike with locals who for the most part go away unscathed (the Sebastian incident notwitstanding).
I may still withdraw perhaps half or so of my account at Bookmaker to be safe, but will/would return it if nothing happens in the next few weeks.
Trying to eliminate sports gambling makes about as much sense as Prohibition-namely it won't work-the government and the majority of politicians realize this and imo wouldn't dare to try to completely eliminate it!
