Originally posted by savage1Even if you do not agree with Nancy Pelosi, listen to her speak, be aware of her thought processes and reasoning and compare it to that (or lack thereof) with Bush;there is no comparison in my opinion.
I view intelligence, ability to think independently, a sense of history, intellectual curiosity and reading and many other things important qualites for a president of the US;Bush sadly lacks in just about everything;then again I view him more of a puppet for big business interests anyways. thus maybe for those who think he is a good president the qualities I mentioned are not so importannt afterall.
i would assume you would be a democrat being a civil servant......i just did not think you would be a bra burning liberal!!!
i will not argue politics because i will not win.....i just hate to see all the monday morning qb's piling on.....I do not think many people (republicans included) can defend what bush has done and i think history will not be kind, but you guys are hanging your hats on the likes of ted kennedy, pelosi, boxer, dean, kerry, sharpton, jesse jackson is just as comical.....
ha ha....good luck betting....i hate politics!!!!

Remember I worked for the Welfare Dept., for 34 years, and believe me, I saw my share of folks trying to abuse the system for example.
If during my investigations, I found or suspected they were lying, I turned them in and hope that they got what they deserved when they were investigated further;I was not and am not one of the real liberals who think that welfar recipients can do no wrong.
I vote the man and not the party;I voted for Bush Sr. in 1988 because I did not think Dukakis was worthy of my vote as he was a lousy governor.
I think any of the people you mentioned(also include Kerry) with the exception of Sharpton or Jesse Jackson would make much better presidents that Bush because of their perspective, intelligence and ability to reason and not be so steadfast in their beliefs as is Bush.
Sure Pelosi wants to get re-elected, but I believe a lot more in her vision of American than that of Bush.
Oh well, thats why they call it politics.
I do hope you get a chance to watch the show, as it was9from my point of view anyways) one of the most accurate portrayals of this Administration.

there is nothing easy about war....that is for sure and we have been used to having our way......minimal casualties......
i am sure our tactics have changed as the enemy has adapted as well......it is no picnic there.....but i think we should continue training as many iraqi's as possible......
but like i said....i do not pretend to know the answer......it is a shame either way......

politics is not my cup of tea and i have watched maher and he loads the panel with other card carrying liberals and they blast away....that to me is not fair and balanced.....i prefer to watch sean hannerty.....
i agree many people would be better than bush, but whose fault is it that they are not in office.....both parties put up their best....and we voted....so it eventually falls on the american people.....
i think bush is way too stubborn.....this i agree with....but who really calls the shots??? is it the president??? or is it congress? or the senate? or is it the lobbyists? or is it rumsfeld??? who knows....i certainly do not.....i know one thing it all depends on who you listen to......their are points of validity on both sides.....I just can not stand politics!!!
just kidding about the bra!!! i know that you are retired you would never go braless!!!

Hey Tony-my analogy is not perfect, and in retrospect it would have been better to not go into Iraq at all.
It would probably have been more appropriate to say that a good investor would have weighed all of the pluses and minuses before even buying the stock and not bought at all because there were too many inherent risks.(with Iraq thus not invading).
Yes the show has liberal guests, but if you get a chance (if you have HBO), just watch Cornel West's commentary and see what you think.
ps I don't go braless, but have no complaints when my wife does(she would kill me if she saw this, but what a set of watermelons).
Tony-I love your honest appraisal of things;it is a lot more than some people would say who are conservative.Last edited by savage1; 05-13-2006, 06:12 PM.

Are the Republicans on this board going to post link for Rep fundraising?
And when complainging about Katrina, why is Nagin's name ALWAYS left out. Yet Bush was supposed to drive the buses from NO to get everyone to safety eh?
Personal responsibility at it's finest!
