  • Detroit named the Poorest of all Major Cities ...

One out of 3 are below poverty level and the unemployment is at 15% ... WOW!

Oprah (let's hear the jokes) is doing a show on it and there are people living on a mattress on sidewalks and sleeping everywhere in the streets. I don't mean to sound naive but is Detroit THAT bad????

The story and photos all around the city are horrific and downright SCARY!!!

            It's o.k. buddy!

Much more so (interesting) than anything else right now, including reruns on ESPNEWS all day. It's hard to believe people in AMERICA are living like they are in a 3rd world country. It really is!

Wayne,I went to Detroit for an EAGLES game last year.Let me tell you it was one of the worst cities I have ever been to. Run down and empty buildings all over the place! Of course they are trying Casinos to help boost the town up! Yeah that will help just like it helped atlantic city! What a joke that is!It is as bad as it looks if you could imagine what it looks like in a war zone that is Detroit! I cant believe they had a super bowl in that city!

She does Bud. She just built 32 homes for families and victims of Katrina. She gives to many.

It was Mississippi (i think) and she did about 4 shows on it. She bought the land and called it "Angel Lane" and they showed the houses going up and the families moving into them. She gives more than any other celeb i've seen. Did you think i was making the shit up??

She is quite the Humanitarian- She gave away cars on a show once. Thanx for pointing out the blight in Detroit. From a Floridian's point of view- we always equate Detroit with cars, smelly (industrial) and a town heading downward. Cleveland was heading that way too - then they improved the waterfront and gave life back to the city.

I went to Cleveland last summer. It was a little more run down than i expected, to tell you the truth. It's nice down near the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame but the other parts were a little run down!
