Is it standard for a local to charge a 20% juice line on totals in bases?

In still a bit green at this whole thing. I know onlines have extra juice on some games depending on if one goes Over or Under. I'm thinking there aren't a lot of locals that take action in bases, so they figure if your going to play with them, you don't mind laying the extra % because it's a seller's market. I have an account with Oly, but I'm reluctant to fund it again because of all the recent bs going on with WU and collecting your money from off-shores. I'm hoping all that gets cleared up before foots.

I don't know how many here use locals. Just wondering if I'm getting screwed here.

My local charges 20 cents on totals and I think it's total BS.
    Pre-ban 1-0 (+1.00)
    Post ban 6-4 (+3.90)

Your getting screwed. My local uses lines from various online books and they are usually right on the money. I'm pretty faithful to Wagerstreet and Pinnacle but i have the same odds locally.

          Thanks guys.

I have only played a couple totals of late in bases. Had the program explained to me tonight. (I wasn't aware of 20%)

May attempt to activate an offshore account. Paying 20% juice is insane. You REALLY have to do well to make up for the additional hit.

I may just attempt to pick my spots.

Been reading alot of horror stories of late about guys trying to collect via WU from various books. The G-men got WU shaking. Offshore books set there own rules as is. I'm reading that WU can sit on your money as long as they wish if they question your motives.

What really pisses me off is that I would like to dabble a bit in bases. I'm very competitive (and completely psycho ) and would like to play some. When I have real $$ on the line, I have a better chance of remembering and learning. I am also tracking a little sytem of sorts (ala our own Pimps theory) on paper. I can't spot play every night if I'm donating 20% on my loses to some little hairy guy.

              bear

What some locals do is charge 20% so they don't have to use a lable on a total, as in 9 over, 9 under, 9 flat.
Their just trying to make it EZ on themselves.
The good thing with that is, you may catch them sleeping on the number they use.
