My knowledge of the whole thing is limited to what was discussed in the first few days it was on the news, and applying logic & common sense to that. Based on that, I think the guy should serve some jail time. His initial action/overaction directly led to the death of someone else.

Prolly about right spread. With the way Fla.laws are on the books, a VERY tough case. Prolly the truth lays in the middle, some wrong on both parts... just tragic that a young man ended up losing his life, due to very unfortunate circumstances.

I have a question for Wayne,Doc,Kb and others that were active in this thread. Was y'alls heart pounding and feel the nerves that I did once the said they had a verdict. I swear the last 20 minutes once we knew a verdict was coming felt like 9th inning world series,4th qtr Super Bowl... Etc. I'm serious I was a nervous wreck. How bout y'all?

He wasn't a cop, didn't need a fucking gun to watch the neighborhood.

I agree with you about Zimmerman and the gun. Why the fuck was he carrying a gun while 'on patrol'? I don't know the details of the case or the applicable law and won't second guess the jury on the verdict, but at the very least he's a cowboy who unnecessarily caused the death of that kid. Even with the gun couldn't he shoot him in the arm or something?
