Simple, Take a good look at that section.

    White persons, percent, 2008 (a) 96.4

    Black persons, percent, 2008 (a) 1%

Persons of Hispanic or Latino origin, percent, 2008 (b) 1.3%

I didn't want to mention that because i figured i would be called a racist or something but i am in total belief that is a big part of it. All i see everywhere everyday is pretty much white people. Very few anything else.

It's weird though cuz Boston/Massachusetts seems to be full of every color and race and look at how low their numbers are!

I lived in Chicago all my life Spark. Never moved out of it. I have never seen it this bad. All the goody two shoes should move next door to me for a week. That would change their tune in a heartbeat.

I have to admit after living here my whole life. It was somewhat shocking when we went down south (My 1st time) and we were the minority. It was mostly black people or hispanic people everywhere we went. Not being used to those surroundings, it left me really uneasy everywhere we went. It was just weird for some reason. I have no problem with black people and never have but when you grow up never seeing any except on tv, it was weird being the only white people seemingly around down there. Just a different world for us i guess and not used to it. I'm used to going to Boston often but even Boston seems like a much closer mix to Maine's race than down south was.

Move over Wayne, after I see those numbers your population may be growing very soon over there. That must be like heaven. Go wherever you want. anytime you want.

Over here you have to watch the roof tops when you walk outside after dark. You may think I am joking. I'm not

People still don't lock their doors up here and i would walk down the worst streets in our busiest city up here (Portland) anytime and not be worried. It's just a different culture i guess. I would seriously be so stressed out living in that enviroment all the time. I don't know how you do it buddy. I really don't.

Stern, Funny story. My company employs about 250-300 people. I have worked there about 20 years and once, only once, a black guy worked there for about 6 months. We used to joke with him and call him the token black guy. He called in sick all the time and ended up gettiing fired. He left and moved back down south and i've never seen another one hired since!

Dino, did you see Jody Weis giving that interview the other night??? While he is standing there by a murder scene giving the interview shots were fired a block away .... you heard the shots in the background ,...
                          Yeah... that was nuts.

                          Gotta blame Daly.

When its gangbangers killing each other .. fuk em

Unfortunately innocents die in the cross fire

If these dumb fuks were better shots , and just killed each other off..then no one would care

You should see the murder rates for some other states like Montana, New Hampshire, N. Dakota and Vermont. They are even lower than Maine. On the flip side you have places like California who are in the thousands each year and the most.

And Illinois is high compared to places like New York who are 4.3 for every 100,000 compared to Illinois at 6.1 for every 100,000. Maine is at 2.4 for every 100,000

You can look at overall population but when broken down, it doesn't matter, some places simply have a lot less than others.

I think he was talking about the certain 1 % in your state
