Originally posted by bryce View PostHey my friends--first of all thanks for all of the well wishes and prayers. You guys are truly special and I wish I could personally meet everyone of you. Today I find myself in an assisted living rehab facility. I had surgery 10 days ago for a nasty staph infection and am doing much better. The infection was so bad that it fractured my good side or right side of my body(leg). It was a rough road for awhile and I really didn't know who I was. I was in tremendous pain and the docs couldn't make me comfortable. I took a drug call adavan and it made me goofier than goofy. I was calling 9-1-1 from the hospital telling them that I was being held against my will. I told the interns that my mom watches gay porn and she should be admitted. I kept calling my girlfriend and telling her the alarm in her house was going off and she MUST GET OUT!!!! I was certainly whacked out.
Anyhow I will be here for another 6 weeks or so. I haven't walked since Septmeber 30th and probably won't see that scenario until Thanksgiving. I haven't drank or smoked since September 23rd and yes I am counting the days.
I have counted my blessings over the past few days. I am not the big religious type person but during these times I see how people turn to God. There were times I really felt I wasn't going to make it through. After my 5 hour surgery last Monday when I came through I kept asking the nurse if I was going to make it. I was having trouble breathing and really thought this was it.
Again I appreciate everyone here and all the prayers and I think finally I am out of the woods and on the road to recovery! I have some obstacles and work in front of me but I think the worst is over.
Thanks EVERYONE and look forward to start posting some plays again!!
Thanks Baseball Dave---I appreciate you starting this.
Take Care Mark

God is good all of the time!!! He wants you well.
I started getting bad a week after we had our chat. Like I said its been a rough one but recovery feels good. I may never be the same again (physically) but I now feel like myself again (mentally).
Thanks again Jimmy

No problem buddy---assisted rehab facility is a "tweener" where the hospital can't do anything else for you and this place helps with rehab and getting you up and going. In my case I am bed ridden till Nov 11 till I get clearance to start walking (through physical therapy)and that is if my pelvic area is healed. My day consists of laying in bed taking two OXYCODONES every 4 hours and eating breakfast lunch and dinner. I bathe around 10 each morning...and take frequent naps....UGH I need outta here!!!!!!!!!!!! The good thing is that I am over halfway through the healing period....the whole kicker to this and the Staph infection---that is what put me bed bound for this amount of time--I am thankful though as it could of killed me.
