Any of you been lately to a blues club called 'Kingston Mines' on North Halstead? I was there about 6 or 7 years ago and was thinking of going back when I'm in Chicago next month. Wondered if it's still a good local music venue. It's kind of a dump, but they had some fine bands when I was there.

Originally posted by BearDownI was there in 2002 and ran into Son Seals (RIP). The place is well known for the Stones and Muddy Waters among others that have played there. I also have been to Buddy Guys. I don't recommend going there. Yeah, Kingston Mines is a little on the dumpy side on the inside, but isn't that what a juke joint is suppose too be? I like it how when one band is done jamming everyone goes to the other side and the new band starts. Have a good time where ever you go Garth. If it's the blues you can't go wrong.
