  • Question for Cell Phone Experts

I am thinking of upgrading my cell phone to a smart phone.
I know that you can go to most internet sites in the same way you can on a regular computer.
    My question is this;
Say I want to go to this site or any other for that matter and read all of the posts and/or even post something myself.
Can I do this with a basic smartphone with just internet access or does it just permit me more simple functions such as seeing what the website is all about, etc.?
    Thanks in advance.
ps Someone else told me you can't go to a website with cell phone unless it is mobile enabled. Are most of the websites related to sports, gambling, chatting, etc. enabled in this way?

I have a blackberry with Tmobile and I can access this site no problem. When I try to access one of my "mans" sites sometimes I have a problem. One site I can access the other I can not.

Savage I can tell you that almost any smart phone should be able to let you get online to view the forum and make posts. The one thing I will tell anyone looking to get a smartphone is to do your research before you choose one. Feel free to email me if you have questions

I am about ready to give up.
I just got my new Instinct and everything seemed fine until I tried to access a website starting with this one.
I typed in the name of thiswebsite and got the heading, ok but then no matter what I do, I get a message saying this page is not supported.
This is what happened with the LG Rumor Phone, and why I chose a different phone.
What do I do and/or can this site and others be accessed with posting and all? Is it really that difficult to reach a site like this without any problems.
Spark or someone-help is needed fast.

Savage - My buddy got the instinct and I accessed and posted on this site last night from the phone with no problem. Not sure what the problem is with yours but i'm assuming it is a setting or something cause it worked fine for me.

You shouldn't have problems getting on here..
Might be a programming issuse with the phone..or the data plan your on...

your best bet right now is to call up Sprints' Tech support and have them talk you through it

Thanks Meg-I Just spent a half hour with tech support, and finally came to conclusion that I need a Windows based phone and that Insitinct is not that.
                        However, Tornado says differently(thanks Tornado).
As i have 30 days to decide I am going to bring the phone to local Sprint Store after my vavation and see which phone is best for me(hopefully it will be the Instinct).
ps I got rid of the LG Rumor, which I loved, because I couldn't get it to do what I wanted it to.

                          .

I'm sure the tech guy knows more then I do but that makes no sense.....might not hurt to give them a call earlier in the day tomorrow (just to get a second opinion from another person)

I know this website works fine off blackberrys and iphones (neither which are windows based)

I am probably not going to keep the Instinct Phone in any event because in order to keep it, I am required to take a 1500 minute plan (unlike the 550 free and flexible I have now, which is more than enough for the two other people with whom I share) with unlimited internet and tv.
I was told initially to get this it would cost me $25 over what I am currently paying;now they are saying that is in error, and it will cost me $129, which is the $25 I am paying plus an additional $30.
Some of the other phones like the Palm and HTC have better 700 minute plans for me (still too many)where you are not forced to share internet with the other people on plan and doesn't force you to take text messaging which I personally have no use for.
Anyways, after I get back, I will hopefully resolve this problem.
In short at least fo me, the conditions and prices attached to the Instinct are a ripoff and even more so because I was told differently before they decided to change the policy and prices AFTER I purchased the phone-either that or everyone on Sprint wasn't on the same page, which are unacceptable in either case.

I may very change phone companies when I return from vacation even though my 2 year commitment period has not yet ended(6 months to go);as far as I am concerned, they breached their contract on me by changing the service plan AFTER I committed.
If they want bad publicity, they will get it fro me-thats a LOCK(Sprint sucks anyways and is rated the worst of all the phone companies;this is just another example).
I already took the problem to the Sprint Forum and am awaiting other opinions.
