Its a ViewSat and I bought it from the guy and he programmed it and I was good to go...now obviously it was much easier for me since I was already a DishNetwork customer (they can suck my dick now and that 150 they took from me each month is now gone)

I get absolutely every single channel and if it ever crashes I can reboot myself with some codes from the computer that he taught me how to get and once it crashes I will be able to give more details (since I have yet to reboot)

I get a ton of channels....you name it I get it...and Im sure I get all of the NFL too since I have 67 different local markets to choose from also

Cost me $150 for the whole thing but If you dont already have a Dish on the roof Im sure you can get the whole thing set up for around $300....I would say I get about $2000 worth of TV every month

        PEACE

A dish (75) and the FTA (135) can be bought on fleabay. I've have used them for 2 years now. Very little knowlege needed. Go to totalfta, you know what is in the front and back of that and read a bunch.

Viewsat offers the best support. Get either the Ultra or Extreme.
The new boxes with HD or DVR capability are not getting great reviews.
Pimp: I am in Wisconsin and in addition to Dish, I get BEV Expressview Sat out of Canada.
Hardest part is finding the Sats.

Once you have the sats locked in do you have to keep fine tuning them etc?

No. After initial Sat reception, lock in place and never reset. Mine has survived 3 Wisconsin winters with no problems.

I'm interested in purchasing one of these...

However...I love my HD...I see that they have HD recievers.

                        Are these recievers any good?

How many channels are there in HD?

                          Viewsat 9000HD
                          Price: $459.99

looking at this myself. Seems most numbers I call are not good numbers from the site.
I have a call out to 2 techs (installers) to return my call. If you have one of these or one like it - tell us of your pros and cons!

WOW! I'm excited here! A question though....for anyone who can answer.

I live in a high rise, and the building shares a dish or dishes on the roof, that we don't have access to. Is this a problem? Do I need actual access to the dish?

Also, does it matter is it is direct tv?

Gookis- it seems logical that they can use your dish to gain access to the satelites- therefore you will probably be out of luck unless they all want to change,
