Spark, I had the procedure done about five years ago, and was probably the best bet I ever made...no more glasses, (except for reading, old age doesn't come alone, lol),no more contact lenses, excellant vision...what prompted me to have it done was when I was over my friend's house at a cookout, and he offered me some jabenero peppers that he grew in his garden.Later that night,at home, I was taking my contact lenses out, and apparently did not use enough soap on my hands prior to removing my contacts. The oil from the jabenero peppers hit my corneas, and I hit the ceiling. After dousing my flaming peepers with ice water and saline, I vowed never to wear contacts again.
The only negative I can tell you is for about three months after surgery, you might get spider web vision at night from glare, especially when driving, but that eventually went away.
Good luck, I do recommend it.(Painless, but nerve-wracking, especially when that machine starts cranking.)
