  • I really don't understand Saturday's World Cup Lines?

Why does Pinnacle have the game at a Pk (-400) for Germany and a "Germany to Advance" wager at (-315) ? Isn't it the same thing?

I understand the 1st wager where a draw is an option because it probably doesn't include penalty kicks but does it include overtime? I also don't see why Germany is a pk (-400) or - 1/2 (-154). Does that go through 90 mins. and extra time only or does it include the O.T. ?

Very confusing and reading the rules at Pinny didn't help much!

Isn't -1/2 and advancing the same thing? Is the only difference that if it comes down to penalty shots -1/2 loses?

good question ? i thought the -1/2 was for the entire game... including o.t. (the 2 - 15 mins.halfs ) and the shootout...but, with the big difference in odds ( to advance ) the shootout must not count ? hence the -300 to advance...I think everyone needs to check with their man to clarify things.... i'm just gonna hook germany and argentina together.... gl wayne !

I just found this at Pinnacle ...

          3. Unless otherwise specified, wagers on the outcome of a match will be decided on regulation time only. This includes two halves of play and any time the referee adds on to compensate for injuries and other stoppages. It does not include periods of extra time nor penalty shootouts.

          10. Bets on teams to qualify or to advance to the next round of a competition:

Bets are paid out on the referee’s final whistle at the match’s natural conclusion, whether the match is decided in regular time, extra time, or in a penalty shootout. Extra time and penalty shootouts are always included for betting purposes.

What this means is if you take the "Germany to Advance" wager, all that matters is who wins after regulation time, extra periods and a shootout. Everything else offered as a wager is based on 90 and extra time, not extra periods or penalty shots. If you take -1/2, they need to do it in a regulation game time!

It's because Germany is expected to Win in regulation so the odds are higher. If it gets to a golden goal or shootout it would give Sweden a much better chance to pull off a goal or win. You would lose the Pick 'em if it went to overtime or a shootout.

What i don't get is the pk -159 with the Draw option and the -1/2 -156 option. They are the same thing. They are both regulation bet and a draw makes them both a loser while a 1 goal Germany win makes them both a winner. It must be why the odds are so similiar because it's basically the same bet!

Unreal...but Whats The Difference ? Ties Lose And 1 Goal Difference You Win ? Unless Of Course You Bet The Dog (sweden)

                        Heres What I Have ...

                        Germany -160
                        Sweden +500
                        Draw +245

                        Goal Line

                        Germany -1/2 -160
                        Sweden +1/2 +130

                        Totals

                        Over 2- +115
                        Under 2- -145

Does This Make Sense ? Now I'm Alittle Confused...

The Pick Em -400 would not lose in regulation time because there is no draw option when you are taking Pick Em -400. That's the reason why it's so high.

The -160 and -0.5 -160 will lose in regulation time because there is a draw option with that wager.

I agree with shorty though, still don't understand why Pick Em -400 in regulation time (push if there's a draw) is more expensive than Germany to advance at -320??? If I think Germany will win why would I take the -400 and not the -320?

Also, there is no golden goal. If tied after regulation time teams play two 15 minutes halves (total of 30 extra minutes). If after 30 minutes of extra time 1 team is leading they win. If it's still tied then they have a shoot out.

On The World Cup websites they do say there is a "Golden Goal" chance and it's in the 30 minute or two 15 minute extra periods. They kept saying that a "Golden Goal" can with it and move a team forward in that time period instead of getting to a shootout.

                            Their words!

What I meant was that the game continues to be played for the full 30 minutes. If a team scores in the first 5 minutes of extra time the game does not end, it used before, but not anymore. It's still called a Golden Goal, meaning it's just the winning goal. The full 30 minute must be played even if a goal is scored. It is not a sudden death format!!
