John I do not want to beat up on you but you are making yourself an easy target .. I was just like you up until this year .,. I am completely done with this ball team ...

Sorry, if I'm ignorant to the fact that I don't think the Tribune Company wants to just contend instead of win is a complete and utter joke, then so be it.
I can't do this with you buddy.....we agree to disagree, but your conspiricy theory just doesn't fly here in my reality.
Where did i EVER say conspiracy??? I know we disagree John but let's not put words in my mouth. The Tribune company is making money hand over fist and they don't feel an urgency to do more when the millions are rolling in. Any company making the money they are wouldn't probably change much. Just like with their newspapers john, it's a business and they are in it to make money. They need an owner, not a company with a PASSION for winning!
Steinbrenner
Cuban
J. Jones
R. Kraft
Buss
How many CORPORATE owned teams have had what individual passionate owners have had for success? It's a serious question. Who was the Last team owned by a Corporation to Win a Title?

Unless the Tribune company has personally called you or you have documents stating that fact they don't feel an urgency to do more....then yes, that is a theory that you are making!
And again, I'm sorry....I think that's pretty outragous.
Our payroll should tell you that we're PUT a product on the field to compete. Whatever happens after that just happened...injuries etc....
the product was there in the beginning, and has been the last 3-4 years, the job just hasn't been done.

Have you read all of my replies? The proof is there John whether or not you want to accept it. How long did it take to replace Lee? What have they done to "Sure" up the pitching problems??? You really think Prior and Wood were 100% heading into the season like you say they were "Ready to Go"?
You are simply arguing something because you are a fan. I don't know a neutral fan out there that would even try to defend this front office.
Read post 41 (bottom) again and that is the answer to your post here.
If your REALLY done...then be done with them. Don't come back and keep trashing them....have fun with your new team and that GREAT man and manager Ozzie Guillen.
Enjoy.
Leave us alone!
hahahaha Your funny ... Wait till you are my age and you have been a Flubs fan for 45 years .. then come and tell me how you feel ... they are a joke ..
and no, I am not a WS fan at all .. but they have a Major league team with a Major league attitude ... they want to win ... I am a realistic buddy ,,,

Wayne, not sure how many years experience you have as a major league general manager, but based on the fact that I have little experience in that capacity, I'm not gonna judge the quickness that it took Jim Hendry to finally execute a trade. He could have been looking for someone the day after Lee got hurt, but you also have to have a taker on a trade.
Prior and Wood are only a factor now because of the loss of Lee. Before Lee was hurt, we were playing very good baseball, but now all the injuries are compounding and again the blame is placed on the injuries to lee, prior, and wood.
wayne, I've read all your posts. It's still a theory. And its still an opinion. But it's also fiction.

I really wish you would have replied with something better from post 47. You never mentioned anything to do with the whole point of that post. It's like you don't even want to see or accept some things that even you know are true. I understand you have solidly dug in and taken a stance John but it wouldn't make you a lesser man or fan to be angry with the nothing they have done once in awhile either.
How would Tejada have looked at SS this year? I was begging the Cubs to do that!

John, I don't have to be a GM. I like you can also watch 30 guys who broadcast, analyze, or work in the game that played also or didn't. They were all saying the same thing i am and wondering why the Cubs made NO attempt to get people that many said were out there for the taking.
Yup ... These are all mine and only mine (thoughts).

I guess I should have said that I agreed with your point that an owner would is better then a corporation. I apolgize for that. Point taken. I've said that Cuban would be a great thing for the Cubs. Now we can move on.
You keep saying they've done nothing. Again...please check they're payroll. I beg to differ. Check it for the last 4 years.
Tejada would have looked good at shortstop. Sure. But I like Cedeno and what he brings to the club....no, he's no Tejada I am not saying that. But I wasn't willing to give up a 25 year old Prior even not knowing how healthy he would be for a 30 year old shortstop who might only be here for one year.

Why do that when they will keep paying you. He's the Albert Belle of Pitching. He has been collecting for years without doing anything. Wait ... Albert actually had a pretty good career!
