If a owner/manage has a business, and the job "just hasn't been done" for the last 3 or 4 years, what should be done??

And that's exactly why Baker hasn't gotten his extention, and more then likely won't if the season continues the way its going.

I cannot believe that people think Baker IS THE REASON. Did they have great success before him? He may be part of the problem but 75% or more is UPSTAIRS!

Baker will just be the next scapegoat for the Cubs. Everyone loved him when he came and thought they finally had a GREAT Manager to bring them to the promise land. Wood and Prior are still hurt and damn it, Dusty has to go! The mind set there is unbelieveable!

See but this is what I don't understand.

3 years ago he brings in Ramierez, and Lofton, both who were key to their playoff run.

Then he signs derrick Lee to a contract, and even better this year to an extention. Lee is arguably one of the top 3 1st baseman in the majors.

he brought in Jacque Jones who at the start seemed like a bust, but now is really hitting well.

they bring in help for the bullpen which for years has been our downfall.

I dont understand how anyone can say that Hendry hasn't done his job?!?!!?!?

I will argue till I'm blue in the face that WHEN HEALTHY, we could contend with what we got.

If and when that ever happens...healthy that is, I will be a whole lot harsher if the results are the same.

This subject is just like the New Orleans Saints. I was a fan for years, but not anymore. Benson controls everything on that team. The Saints sucked, but everyone blamed the coaches. But the fans were still buying tickets.

You watch. Dusty will go elsewhere and have success just like in S.F.

Who else out there is better? One name, Lou Piniella (IMO). He would kick their ass BUT it won't matter if nothing changes upstairs. I also think Lou may be waiting for the Yankees job. Why would he go to the Cubs when a Manager of the Year like Baker is a VILLAIN?
