It's not that I don't like Tejada...

He's one of the top SS in the game today hands down. I'm nor knocking him.

I'm knocking the notion that the Cubs have to give up on Prior yet. I refuse to think he's a lost cause YET. And tradeing him away for Tejeda was NOT what the Cubs needed to do.


What's wrong with Ramierez and Lee?

Ramierez has quietly become a very good third baseman, and if you have Lee in the lineup he's that much better.

I like Ramirez John but he is streaky. What happens if you take some pressure off him and move Tejada into the spotlight.

John, I'm arguing the points but i've seriously got about 5 Cubs hats and i used to love them as my NL team ever since the Hawk signed a whatever you want contract for the Cubs and Ryne was @ 2nd base. I want them to be better and to Win. I, at all costs wanted to get Tejada. I thought it would be a GREAT move in and out of the Clubhouse and i thought it would point them in the right direction. When it didn't happen, i was actually pissed about it!

For whatever reason, it didnt' happen. i'm not gonna dwell on it. I dont think that if he was here now it would make things any better considering the injuries that we've had.

I believe that pitching will win you championships, and that's the mindset in NOT trading Prior nor Zambrano. You can find hitting in a lot of places, but when you have the glimpse of a stud pitcher like Prior has shown, I just can't let him go.

He's got at least 4 more starts until the deadline....lets see what happens from there.

Trust me when i tell you we (Red Sox) fans know exactly how Cub Fans (Like Joe) feel. We both have the historic park and crazed fan base. We also couldn't win to save our lives (both cursed). Me ... and friends of mine always cheered for the Cubs because they were in the same boat as us.

Somehow new ownership and the Sox pulled one out of their ass but i still know and remember the frustration. Now i've just funneled it to the Cubs!

IMO. Pitching is everything in baseball, that's not a bold statement, but I think sometimes you have to move pitching for offense. If I was the Cubs GM, I would move Prior for Tejada, it's risky, cause Prior still could be big, but under the circumstances, I think they would have to take the best SS in the game. I would not move Zambrano though. Of course salaries and contracts come into play as well.
