The Mets are the favorite, right now, beacuse they have the easiest path to get to the World Series.

Right now, how can anyone favor the White Sox, Tigers or Red Sox over the other? That's why they're all at higher odds than the Mets.

That is what I said/implied in edited post. Still, based on what I have seen in the overall record between AL and NL teams during interleague play this year and having watched every game between Red Sox and Mets last week(which admittedly is only one series), I don't think Mets are quite there yet and would have a lot of trouble in a WS against The Red Sox or White Sox because of overall experience factor alone.
ps I think they are better than the Yankees though at the present time.

I have to recant this and not only because of the game Sunday night.
Even without Sheffield and Matsui, Yanks just because of remaining talent (Jeter, ARod, Mariano Rivera, Posada, Giambi, etc.) and having been to playoffs so many time, they have to be rated at least as good as Mets.
With Matsui and Sheffield, Yanks have a clear edge.
