  • Possible Pujols connection to Grimsley

The speculation is going to start in a big way. On Keith Olbermann's show tonight, he's going to have a guest talk about a possible connection between Pujols and Grimsley.

Apparently Grimsley's trainer (Chris Millfeld) is Albert Pujols' best friend and personal trainer.

My take is that on the surface, it's nothing but speculation. Millfeld will probably deny that he knew Grimsley was taking performance enhancing drugs, but that's what Bonds and his trainer said about each other as well.

Even if he knew, that doesn't mean that Pujols took anything illegal, but this is going to be fodder for the sports talk shows and chat boards.

I'm sure Pujols took them just like Bonds did.. Hell I would be willing to bet that at least 70-75% of all MLB players has either took this shit or was taking it at the time of this story to break..

Please don't remind me. Although, driving to work this morning I passed a lake that was dry. Florida needs rain desperately. I was thinking a passing hurricane will solve our drought situation.

I agree about Pujols. I don't agree 70-75% having taken shit. I think it's high but not that high.

Maybe, I'm naive. I don't think most pro athletes who already have millions in the bank and have a secure MLB position are going to take the potential long term risks to their health. What's the sense of risking health if one won't be around to enjoy spending the money?

I think the percentage is 20-25% It'll be interesting in the future to find out.

the PLAYERS are always a step ahead of the testing. I think there is alot of cheating still. NFL NHL MLB NBA....all have cheats. All they have to do is come up with a drug.....try it....piss and a cup and see if a test would reveal it. if it doesnt show up on the radar...u can use it . BONDS SOSA McQUIRE DYKSTRA, BELLE, OR ANYONE ELSE WHO GOT BIG IN THE 90S IS LIKELY TO HAVE CHEATED.

This thing with Grimsley will be the worst possible scenario for MLB...players naming players in affidavits. This is going to get REALLY ugly.....

But what are the proven long term effects to health? No one really knows for sure. It's more speculation about the unknown, rather than proven long term damage to health.

Honestly, certain steroids can be beneficial to performance in the short to intermediate term if not abused and actually can provide short term joint relief.

Let's be honest, if a player is in their walk year and has multiple millions of dollars on the line with free agency looming, why wouldn't they do an offseason cycle to improve their performance?
