Well Yuri has a legit point in this thread, correlation does not prove causation. The comments are sterotyping.

Ok so let's agree that the Latin players are a major source of this stuff. Would you agree that the non-latin players who take illegal substances(and they do) have the choice not to take it? In life, there is ALWAYS a choice. It's called free will and responsibility.
Cocaine and other illicit drugs also come from Latin America.
Why? Because there is a demand from ALL Americans to use them. Baseball is just a microcosm of the greater American society. Cheating and corruption is pervasive from Congress down to the local school board. Latin players should not be scapegoated and targeted as the cause of illegal drug use.

I say LET the athletes have their ergogenic aids, and let's get on with the game....
.....Everybody likes to see robust, muscular athletes hitting home runs and making great plays....If team doctors would monitor blood and liver for these athletes, it wouldn't be such a taboo issue....
....The same assholes trying to pass judgement, and THAT'S ALL IT BOILS DOWN TO, are having their 3 martini lunches, smoking tobacco and God knows what else.......I could go on and on....

I like your feeling of disgust Vinnie! haha And I agree with you.
We can go through the history of baseball and examine different eras and surrounding circumstances that influenced performance. Live ball era, dead ball era. Gaylord Perry and his cheating ways. Nobody says jack about this guy. It's almost amusing when people talk about him.

I doubt anybody will agree with me on this, but I like to see records being broken, I like to see monster homeruns, I thought baseball was at it's best when the players were on steriods. Is there anybody that didn't know McGwire and Sosa were doing roids when they were hitting all those homeruns?

Tell him, people make mistakes, some players wanted to be the best and they had the opportunity to be the best, and they took it, but it was a mistake and everybody's learning from it. Jason Giambi admitted taking steriods and now he's still a really good player, see, he didn't need steriods after all.

So what? Baseball needs more whistle blowers. The sport is a disgrace.

I think he meant it's no longer an American sport. Many MLB players are non-Americans.

I disagree 1000% Baseball unlike the other major sports has a very rich, meaningful history. The steroid era has raped baseball of its history and it's historical records.

Comparing Gaylord Perry with Bonds and other steroid users is laughable.

Ok so we should make judgments based upon degrees of cheating in baseball?
