Loretta is a career .300 hitter and the prototypical #2 hitter...there is no history to indicate he won't continue to hit over .300.

Comparing Papelbon to Rivera or Gagne 'in their prime' is lunacy as the guy has been in the majors for 2 months plus a couple of weeks last year, but he is the best reliever in baseball right now.

Boston will win Friday. Detroit may have broken the streak, but they haven't broken the slump. Winning one game after losing 4 in a row, dosen't change anything. Maybe I shouldn't say Boston will win Friday. I should say Detroit will lose Friday.

Stop drinking the Kool Aid when it comes to Crisp Wayne........the guy is has lifetime 330 OBP compared to Youk's 400........Everyone knows Boston doesnt run and anyone batting in front of Ortiz and Manny should be thrown in jail if they ever ran

Crisp should be batting 8th maybe 9th........hes an average defensive CF who just doesnt get on base enough and as a result Loretta will lose the hole between 1st and 2nd and in turn will slump some........there is no denying Loretta is a great hitter over his lifetime and is a prototypical 2 hitter but it wasnt a coincidence that Loretta heated up once Youk started hitting leadoff

Again its JMO but Crisp has no business batting leadoff and if Francona has any sense in him Youk will be back there......I could care less what the Red Sox do besides Ortiz since hes on my fantasy team and Wakefield when he starts twice and Schilling (bonus since he qualifies for RP) I do not like nor dislike the Red Sox and actually predicted them winning it back in 04' when the Yanks were running away with the division........All im saying is Crisp shouldnt be batting leadoff

Carl Crawford left Thursday's game at Baltimore in the fourth inning after he injured his left leg, leaping into the air in protest of a call at the plate. After he landed and appeared to hyperextend his left knee, he fell to the ground and clutched the knee in agony.




Crawford then came out to play the next half inning in left field, but he was in obvious discomfort and he finally came into the dugout. Trainers are likely tending to him. Visions of Bill Gramatica tearing an ACL after celebrating a field goal for Arizona, but don't worry too much until more news comes forth.

He is twice the player in center that Damon was for 2 reasons. More speed and he actually can reach a cutoff guy without the ball rolling to him like Damon did.

Love it...guess I struck a cord! Like the Tigers have been at the top of the standings for the last 15 yrs! We will depend on the pitching as long as it is productive. Glavine = best ERA in the game since last year's All-Star break. Funny that you take shots at Glavine and Pedro being old...how is young Mike Maroth doing today? He is 28, right? I guess Omar can spend the money because the fans support the team. Maybe Detroit could too if the fans supported them.
