I kind of expected ridicule after this (Johnson's first decent game in weeks), but Detroit does have the best record in baseball with nearly one-third of the season now complete. So, yes, at the moment they are the best team in baseball. What criteria would you use to determine the best team other than its won-loss record?

The demise of RJ, imo, are overblown. Will we see the dominate pitcher of the past consistently, I do not think so. He will have his great games like yesterday, but I don't think he will string 6 or 7 in a row like he used too. I don't think he can dominate for an extended stretch anymore.

And his last three starts very strong? Check the numbers...either you have little expectations for your $16 million pitcher or you are thinking of Mussina....

I'd like to nominate Andy Pettitte for this award. IMO, he has reached overrated, overpaid and overpriced status. He is an average, at best, pitcher on a good team.
