No, it's not like the last couple of years when you could routinely get +200 against Randy Johnson even when he faced superior pitchers. But he's still being valued much higher than one of the worst pitchers in the game deserves. I'll back up the statement: Johnson has a 5.93 ERA on the year and 7.59 his last five games, he's given up 30 hits his last 19 innings and he can't last more than five innings. Today, he faces the best team in baseball so far this year and on the road, to boot. Yanks just 12-11 on the road. Tigers surge finally stopped yesterday but they're winning almost every game. Bonderman isn't their best pitcher but he's a lot better than Johnson. This is a very reasonable price to get on baseball's best team.

Looks like RJ needs to hang it up after this season unless he starts doing better.

Good luck, gris. Can't fault your reasoning on this pick. The Unit is pretty bad.

One quality start doesn't make a season. Yes the Yanks are overrated.

Like I said in another thread he was worried about his shoulder being messed up all season and the Yanks went and got a MRI done on his shoulder and he found out nothing was wrong with it and his last 3 starts were very very solid.. Get ready to see more of these types of outings by the big unit... And this is coming from someone who said that the yanks were making a HUGE mistake by taking him in the 1st place..

His last 3 starts have been terrible besides today.

                          VS Boston 5 IP 9 Hits 5 ER 2 HR 2 BB 8 K
                          VS Mets 5 IP 8 Hits 6 ER 2 HR 3 BB 5 K
                          Oak 6 IP 8 Hits 4 ER 2 HR 1 BB 4 K

Including todays start he's only had 4 quality games out of 11

Sounds like a pretty lame excuse. He needed a MRI to know if his shoulder hurts?
