If the your muscle goes after him and he accidentally dies or something you will be in jail next to your friend for life so just figure how much your life is worth and use that figure as your break point?

if you don't think they can not figure out who he is you are crazy!

it all depends on the amount of money that is owed. if it is WAY over what your potential legal fees, fines and confiscations that will come with an arrest then it is worth kicking his ass. if it is going to cost you more in the long run(which it most likely will) forget it. count it as a loss.

however, make sure to NOT take any bets from anyone he knows. once people know they can stiff you, they will. using your cell phone is worse than using a land line. they are some silly ass laws about taking bets over a cellular line.

That's his problem. I didn't choose to post a thread about it and tell the world or book bets. He did!

Recently, he has said that he will "tell the cops" if we don't stop harassing him. My buddy and I have an ex-college lineman friend that we're prepared to use to help us collect if we need to. We've told the bitch who won't pay up about our "big friend" but it doesn't seem to phase him. He told my buddy today that if we threaten him or if he experiences any bodily harm, he will "tell the cops" about our illegal book making. The money he owes us isn't a lot but it is the principle behind the fact that he needs to pay up, which I'm sure all of you understand. My question is... If police are told about our book, will they do anything about it? What's the "legality" involved? Felony, misdemeanor? Any answers or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks, guys.

i have much much experience in this....1st of all in most states bookmaking is a misdemeanor and most agencies will not go after a book...unless he is a large fish and they can get him on other charges like racketeering and rico......which are felonies.....This is not the 70's or 80's.....men are not men of honor and before would not think twice of threatening a book......Things were settled as men.....if they did not pay arrangements were made....Remember the book wants to get paid...not bust people up.....it would have to get real out of hand for that to happen......This is why many books and you may want to do this as a policy....never let a player wager more than 2.5 times his average...prevents him chasing and you as the book do not want a guy into you for a boatload, since you will not get paid....This is why in this day and age you must be selective who you take on as clients......My advice is forget this guy and live and learn...By threatening him you have committed a crime...and i hope you were not dumb enough to do it over the phone.....Remember, many of the good clients are now online and that leaves the books to deal with some unsavory characters......What do you think would happen if you sent your lineman friend over???? If he busts him up...the lineman goes down...then he will take you down with him.....Over what a grand or two???/

in this day and age there are easier ways to make money

I know a guy who runs a small book and a dude split on his tab, he called him over and over, left messages trying to get him on monthlys, etc, with no results...he never threatened him, never said "we'll come after you" but on the 6 month anniversary of his debt, his very very nice car took a very very royal beating. It would have been much cheaper for him to pay his debt than get his car fixed.

Obviously we all know now why some folks always use locals would NEVER consider using an offshore.
