My 2 cents on the trade

Being from MN, I think the Wolves had to do something. If they didn't do anything, they were not going to the playoffs. Davis is a better defender and Wally a better pure shooter. Kandi was a stiff but is in the last year on his contract which is valuable since he comes off the books after this year and Blount is signed through 2010 and is owed more the $30 million.

The part I don't like about the trade is the Wolves giving up another conditional 1st round draft pick to Boston. They already gave up a conditional 1st round pick to the Clippers for Juric so they are messing with their future giving up 2 1st round draft picks. The two 2nd round picks Wolves got in the deal are pretty much worthless unless they end up being high 2nd round picks.

I read that Garnett and Wally didn't click together so maybe chemistry was another reason for the trade. I think Boston was in the same boat, they needed a shakeup as they weren't going to make the playoffs either if they didn't do anything. Believe Boston made out better in this trade due to adding a future 1st round pick and Kandi's contract ends after this season and they can use the money to sign a better player (which shouldn't be too hard to find).
                Posted record as of 03/12/08:

                NBA 35-33 -.22 units
                NCAA Basketball 12-14-1 -3.08 units

Barkely and the other guys on TNT last night looked at each other and made fun of the trade. They couldn't figure out what the hell the trade was even made for and felt no one got anything of any substance (good or bad). No big statement was made like, hey we want to make a run for it so we're going to add this and that. Sir Charles just kept saying poor KG, poor KG, why don't they get the guy some support? and so on.

As a Celtics fan, I'm not really liking this trade. This team has "shaken up" every year. I think Danny Ainge needs to be a little more patient or atleast trade up for a real NBA superstar instead of just replacing players. I don't see this trade making a big difference on either end.

I still hate Patino for getting rid of Billups.

That's exactly what the TNT guys were saying...
