I wouldn't vote for him for MVP.
I dont totally disagree with the fact Kobe wants his own show nightly!!! but that doesnt change the fact that you have to appreciate his greatness...

And also he wants to win as much and probably more than most athletes. he is relentless, if he gets you down he will stomp on your neck until the game is over. I love how competitive he is! even if he doesnt deserve the MVP!!!

            BALL HOG

            thats straight up stupid

have you watched the games hes played? hes clearly the best player in the game--lebron said it himself-kobe is at the top of his game and why not put the ball up 35 times a game if hes the best offensive player in the game? both the dallas game and toronto game were blowouts performed by kobe...i would rather have kobe take a difficult shot than walton take a wide open shot--that simple

now all kobe needs is a consistent 2nd scorer and the lakers can go back to their glory days...

hate all you want, i havent seen anything like kobe since jordan who was also a ball hog with 6 rings

If the Sixers didnt have Iverson, I think they would be a worse team then the Lakers without Kobe... Technically if that award was given to the most valueable player of a team... Iverson would have won it the last 5 or 6 years.
Thank you Ryan Howard! <--- ITS A WINNER!

The objective in sports is to win. It's not about personal stats. When I played I could care less about my personal achievements. I wanted to win.
Here's the thing Frank. I TRULY believe that Kobe wants to win. The problem is, and it's usually like this with the guys that strive to be the greatest, they want to win there way.

For example, people say Kobe doesn't care about winning because of the entire Shaq episode, but many moons ago, Magic Johnson basically got his coach fired because he didn't agree with the style of ball that they were playing, even though said coach had ALREADY coached them to a NBA title.

Basically, Johnson felt that they should be uptempo, and basically got Westphal ousted. Now, it ended up working out, but that's not the point. Magic wanted it HIS way, even though it was already proven that the other way would work. Great players are stubborn. That's one of their biggest attributes while also being one of their biggest deficiencies.

One other thing that I'd like to mention. I have also noticed that when people compare Kobe and MJ they always say that the main difference is that MJ wanted to win and Kobe doesn't. Well, I will go to my grave believing that MJ and Shaq would have clashed as well. MJ belived in "the breakfast club," whereas Shaq believes in "playing himself into shape." They could have coexisted for a while, but eventually, I think that situation would have come to a head as well.

Lastly, I'm not saying that Kobe doesn't have any faults because he certainly does, but instead just saying that while he definitely played a role in what went down in LA, I don't think Shaq gets enough blame (for lack of a better word) with regards to that situation.

And oh yeah, I'm a Lakers fan, but right now I couldn't vote him as the MVP.

And one last thing (sorry), the Lakers are 9-8 since Dec. 20th, but two of the losses were when Kobe was suspended. They are 9-6 when he has played, and are 7-3 in their last ten games. This upcoming 7 game road trip is goign to be CRUCIAL with regards to LA's season, though.

You are correct. I forgot about the suspension.

However the Lakers record when Kobe scores:

                    30 or more points 13-14
                    40 or more points 6-6
                    50 or more points 2-1

And when he scores 29 or less, their record is 6-6. Your point is?

Edit: that 40 point record is wrong. I'm showing 8-5 for 40 or more.

                        Here's what I'm seeing:

                        40-49 = 5-4
                        50-59 = 1-1
                        60+ = 2-0

So, when he scores 40 or more, LA is 8-5.

The point is whether Kobe scores lots of points or not the Lakers are a mediocre team.

Well, when he hits 40 or more, that's an 8-5 record, which unless my math is fuzzy, is not a mediocre record. That's damn near 50 wins over an 82 game season.
