Where am I saying sharing experiences is a waste of time? What I believe is a waste of time is trying to convince people your experience is the "right" one. It's neither right or wrong. It's your experience and that's it. Nothing more.

John, I'm stating my opinion. Many times you take exception to any member expressing their opinion on how to bet, how many games to bet, and how much to bet. You don't offer you opinions on how to bet. You challenge fellow members opinions. There's a difference.

You don't like my opinions on those issues. Some members do. We disagree on lots of things. We'll never agree. That won't stop me from posting my opinion. So feel free to continue to challenge me each time I question other bettors tactics.

That statement is showing your lack of reading skills. My whole point is different strokes for different folks. Any capper on here can rate their plays, play the whole board, or whatever they want to do. And NO ONE has the right to say whether it's right or wrong. It's what they want to do. People can folow, fade, rate the same, do whatever they want with the info. But telling someone they shouldn't chase, they shouldn't play this way or that way, they have to post like this or that is insane.

Most will ignore. Some will listen.

It's not for you to decide what's a waste of time and what's not. You can't assume no one will listen.

No one can tell how to rate or bet on plays.

The other day I was pointing out along with a few others that his plays have gone from 20* to 40* and now 50*. The rated plays have increased with his losing streak while players should be doing the opposite. Bet less when they get cold.

Do you really think not one single person heeds the advice of others? If you don't, well then you are a skeptic.

But do you think my knowledge/experience should tell Wayne or RJ or HJ or anyone that plays that way to stop? Or should I start threads telling them what to do based on MY experience? B/c we both know Larry could be out there and see a GOY or TOY or 10* or 50* and play that game only and lose. The what? Back to selling crack or whatever else happens to stupid Larry...
You are off the topic-I am talking about losing streaks ONLY.
The "Lock" of the century is that ANYONE who has been losing needs to be careful and take a step back; the wisest and most successful gamblers in the world would agree with that with VERY few exceptions.
I think my example shows logically what can happen to someone who is not careful and thinks he cannot get buried.
Is that so difficult to understand? You are reading things in my post that aren't there.
ps You find my a successful gambler who has "chased" losses all his gambling life and came out ahead;you can count them on one hand(unless he is a zillionaire).

Why "should" players do the opposite and bet less when they get cold? B/c of your experiences? Do you think there's anyone on this board who has chased and gotten out of a hole? So there's a possibility huh? So my thoughts are you have no right to tell someone what they "should" do. You are certainly entitled to share your experiences with chasing, but to tell someone what they "should" do is arrogant.

Capperjohn-if you think "chasing" losses over a long period of time is an acceptable way of gambling, then lets just end this conversation right here and now;I don't have time to debate such nonsense.

I am not saying what is or isn't an "acceptable" way to gamble. Are you?

Acceptable is perhaps not the right choice of words. Perhaps the word "successful" would be more appropriate.
If such a thing could be proven, I would bet just about anything that well over 90% of gamblers who have won over the long term didn't do it by chasing losses, doubling up, etc.
I would love to know what the PROVEN WINNERS on this forum have to say about what I just said.
ps Sure you can bail out on one game , but sooner or later you will NOT!

Thank you for correcting the language and now we can agree. Do I think that long-term success will be reached with chasing? No I don't. I am sure some others may think you can. Either way, the "acceptable" way is the way someone wants to do it themselves.

Without being judgmental, I think the basic difference between me and capperjohn is philosophical.
I am of the opinion that while one must take responsibility for his/her own actions and learn through trial and error, that perhaps if that person sees what bad things happened to others under similar circumstances, then perhaps that person can add that to his/her memory.
This in effect might influence the person's thinking in a positive way should he/she personally encounter a bad experience not only in gambling but in life in general.
My hope is that if confronted with a choice under bad situations, then at least that person will have stored away somewhere in his/her brain what happened to someone else under roughly the same circumstances.
Then that person perhaps will at least consider OTHER possibilites rather than just relying on his own gut instincts which got him in the mess in the first place.
I know above requires some thought, but I think if you think about it carefully, it makes sense.
ps Ok Capper-I read your last post, and perhaps we are not that far apart.

Everyone should really listen to this. I have lost more in the past two days than I have in my entire life. BY CHASING. Thinking that there is no way all my plays can lose. Most of the plays I played I was right on the money with the call, but had bad performances at the end. I think I showed you all 8 games that I played Saturday that I lost by a half point! 8 of them. Than last night Portland and the under was EZ but Port drilled a 3 and sent it to overtime where they lost and it went over. You can cap the games, but you can't make the teams perform.

Hoops-I started this thread mostly because of your bad luck and what transpired the last few days;it just goes to show it can happen to the best!
Hopefully, you will get back on track starting tonight!
