I will say this:
While the story I provided may be a little farfetched(in that some folks might follow the scenario but most would not double up to the point that Larry did), I do think it makes some good points about what can happen.
.
I am sure all of you have had similar experiences.
About what can happen? C'mon Savage. You can write 20,000,000 () scenarios. Larry could start selling rock on the corner to pay his debt. Then he can get locked up and raped in prison. And his wife can then leave him and take the kids after the house is lost. Or Larry can go spend his last dollar and hit Mega-Millions and pay off his debt and donate all his money to church. I mean when does a newbie, or anyone, have to take personal responsibilty for their own actions? Protect the newbies..what a joke...
I have a friend who about 20 yrs ago lost 37 straight Games in a row....His wife left him, he lost his house and do this day never learned his lesson and still continues to lose part of his paycheck every week in Poker Machines....
It can become a sickness, and some can't control themselves no matter what the consequiences...The worst thing that could happen to a gambler like this is to win Big...
I believe a lot of spouses hate gambling especially when it affects their lives...
And even though it's your friend, do you feel it's your responsibility to teach him otherwise or to let him be a man, and sleep in the bed he made?

Capper-we are not talking about taking responsibility here.
What I am trying to show is that when someone is losing and is not thinking rationally, then the situation can and will get worse.
I think my example of Larry Loser shows what can happen to someone who is losing and tries to bail out by betting on very good(undefeated teams) and sports services and then good cappers at BC.
You might not think it a big deal, but someone who has not experienced such a scenario in his life might not think it is possible for something like that to happen to him.
I think the chances of something like my scenario are FAR greater than one's winning millions iin the lottery.
With age(I am 61) I have learned a lot through my mistakes about gambling and in life in general.
I certainly see no harm into trying to impart some knoweldge via a possible scenario as described in the story.
If just one person takes something positive away from my post, then I will be happy.
Well what about the person who plays the "bail out" game and wins? And how can you say the situation "will" get worse? "Can" yes, but it "could" get better right? And do you honestly think a degenerate that is chasing his money is going to read the insightful thoughts of experienced people and a lightbulb will go off all a sudden and they will see the light and what? Stop, stiff the book, what? If they're dealilng with a bookie, then there are doing something illegal anyway right? At least with online, you can only lose what you have.

my wife says the same thing about my eating. Says its outta control
Larry sounds a little like Spicolli.....I can see him trying to get a bail out winner, only to rant and rave about how this team and that sucks because he lost....Just listen to him one time when he's following Hoops' Plays..

Again, you are missing the point;the disciplined bettor would never let it get to the final game.
Hopefully, if in our example, Larry did bale out and go 4-0 with the second half plays, he would learn never to put himself in that position again, as sooner or later he would NOT bail out, and don't tell me otherwise!
Protect the world, Savage. And save the newbies. So do you think people should just follow your advice on how to gamble? Or do you think they should be able to learn from "their" own mistakes and do what "they" want? Since it is their life and money.
SAVAGE that was a very good story and it has definately happened to me. Fortunately I had a GREAT weekend due to some GREAT cappers on BC. Bookmakers THRIVE on people stuck and chaseing. Thanks for printing this.
