I think the Bears get exposed here. I don't think they can contain the passing game, and don't have the offense to keep up. Defense will keep them in it, but not long enough. This Chicago team reminds me a lot of the team they had 4 or 5 years ago sneaking out games on D. Unfortunately, they will be playing good teams this second half. Honestly, I think they are overrated and will probably end up dropping 5 of their last 7 games.

Lets say they are going to control the run..I think that's a safe assumption...if they key on Steve Smith, who is Jake gonna throw to? It's been Steve Smith or nothing! Look at the stats....
Receptions
Steve Smith 58-937 yds
DeShaun Foster 18-255
Rickey Proehl 13-233 yds
Seems to me the gameplan is pretty simple. Let anyone but Steve Smith beat you and you've got a very good chance.

Last weekend at home they looked pretty average against a bad beat up Jets team. They were only leading 10-3 entering the 4th Qtr. The twenty points they scored in the 4th were off turnovers.

But hey...I'm not gonna be shocked if Carolina wins...they are a good team.
I just hate all the people dogging the bears because of their schedule...they do what it takes to win. Period.
Lets see if they pass this test or not.

Neither one of these teams have played a tuff schedule, we'll see who's for real this Sunday. Good luck to whoever you guys play.

Extreamely good point Frank...that was a very tight game until the Jets implded with 4 straight turnovers on consecutive drives and then a turnover on downs after that.

Yes, and the Bears needed to return a 108 yard field goal miss to beat the 49ers, possibly the worst team in the NFL.

Chicago leads the league in scoring defense and total yards allowed D.
Panthers are 2nd in rushing D. However, the best rushing team they've faced is New Orleans. They rank 12th in the league. The Panthers have faced Arizona (last in rushing), Packers (30th), Minny (28th) and Jets (29th).
I think Bears have the better D.

It probably will be close, these stats could be debated all day. Chicago leads the league in scoring defense and total yards allowed D......BUT let's look at the offenses they have played
Losses
Cincy 5th
Washington 10th
Cleve 24th
Wins
NO 20th
MN 25th
Balt 26th
Det 27th
SF 31st

Good Point! Now my rebuttal
I think we'll agree that the Bengals have one of the leagues better offenses. Let's look closer at that game.
Bears had more total yards vs Cincy 255-244
They outrushed Cincy. Cincy out passed the Bears 161-149.
The difference in that game? Chicago had 6 turnovers vs one for Cincy. The Bears threw 5 INTs.
Cincy jumped to a 10-0 lead in the 1st Qtr. The Bears spent most of the game playing catch up. Cincy drives 18 yards after a turnover. The 2nd scoring drive in the 1st qtr. 5 plays 21 yards for a FG after another TO.
