      Good Point! Now my rebuttal

I think we'll agree that the Bengals have one of the leagues better offenses. Let's look closer at that game.

Bears had more total yards vs Cincy 255-244

They outrushed Cincy. Cincy out passed the Bears 161-149.

The difference in that game? Chicago had 6 turnovers vs one for Cincy. The Bears threw 5 INTs.

Cincy jumped to a 10-0 lead in the 1st Qtr. The Bears spent most of the game playing catch up. Cincy drives 18 yards after a turnover. The 2nd scoring drive in the 1st qtr. 5 plays 21 yards for a FG after another TO.
Agreed, Stats are scewed though, as you point out in your post. You have to take into consideration that with 6 turnovers the Bengals were working with a short field. Can't rack up the yards if you only have 18 yards to the endzone. I'm not sure how the rest of the game went, but I'm sure they had pretty good field position with 6 turnovers.

So this kind of goes back to one of my first posts, IF Car can stop the run, Orton will have to throw. That will lead to trouble.....a few picks??

Cincy only had a 7 play 70 yard drive and a 3 play 62 yard drive.

I don't know how that compares in other games they've played.

One thing for sure. It'll be a good game. I'm expecting a close game. The Under might be the better play.

I think that can go both ways as well. If Carolina is forced to throw the ball....I see some picks for the Bears D as well.

Playing with that short field is just what the Bears would want.

IMO The tell-tale stat from the Cincy/Bears game. First Downs. Bears 16-11.

It's fun, there should be a thread like this for every game.
Although, if there was, I would be too damn confused to pick a side on any game.

Well if it plays out like any of us think, the U probably would be a good play. Well, my day is almost over, I suppose I should get a little bit of real work done before I leave! GL tonight guys.

It's always great having an open discussion. It certainly beats the other drama.

gbc and Rook, gl with whomever you take this weekend.

Some games are better watching and not betting. The Indy/NE Monday night game was a good example. I didn't bet it. I wanted to enjoy the game and not have to worry about who I bet.

No offense to John, but I would be very surprised if the Bears win this game. As far as the spread who knows, they could very well cover. The Bears let Cincinatti come in their house and handle them. Cincinatti is a good team, but they are not Carolina. This is just what i think, and if you look at my record on predicting games, you will realize that i dont have a fucking clue. haha

This is a GREAT thread. It was a VERY good read. Thanks guys!

I think the D's can really offset each other but on the other side of the ball you have a QB thats 10x's better and EXPERIENCED. You also have the best receiver on the field to go with him. I think Orton might be good but John Fox is a Great Defensive mind and i think he f*cks with this kids head. Peppers, Gamble, and countless others will pressure the hell out of Orton and forced to make quick decisions ....... It Could be a big problem for Orton.

I honestly think the ONLY chance Chicago has is if they score a couple times on defense and even then, Carolina might do the same. I could be totally misreading this game but this Carolina team reminds me alot of the one that went to the SB.

You can't compare Carolina's 10-3 lead last week to a struggle IMO either. We all know teams play down to their competition at times and i don't think they were ever excited about playing the jets, and in the end they STILL Won by 27!

                              GL Guys!

JC, I don't think you read this entire thread. Cincy did NOT handle the Bears. Read my post on that game. The Bears outplayed Cincy. The difference was the Bears had 6 turnovers vs one for Cincy. Cincy had two easy short field scores off turnovers in the first qty.
