i stand corrected. Spark was in his 30's when he last saw the cubs win a world series back in 1908 or whenever they won last.

I live just north of the city in Bucktown. I did not see one person wearing Sox stuff on the streets until Game 4 of the World Series (as Sox went for the sweep). That includes a 10 minute walk to the El (Blue Line) in route to Game 1. I walk my kid around the neighborhoods like 2 hours/day. So there is no issue with my sample size.

So I think Rook is right as far as things will go back to normal. At least in the city as a whole. The Sox fans will be louder and the numbers will likely grow South of the city. If a great change was under way, I think I would have seen more in northside neighborhoods during the playoffs.

As far as Sox fans being jealous of the Cubs fans or being more likely to cheer against the Cubs. That is garbage. The Cubs fans are the worst. You have to ask yourself what kind of person would subject themself to being forever faithful to an organization constantly sabotaging their own success. Why do they do this? Because that is their marketing tool year in and year out. What would the Cubs be without losing and Wrigley Field? Why else would you hire Dusty Baker? He has to be the worst manager in the league, but that is another story. We had better keep beating the Kerry Wood and to a lesser extent mark Prior drum, who else can consistently spend multiple weeks on the DL every year. And what better way to sabotage a team? We won't have anyone in the bullpen, but a converted starter...who actually performed well, but there is no one to get to him.

I don't have a single friend that is a Sox fan and Cub hater, but I know plenty on the other side of the spectrum. Why would we hate on the Cubs? I love going to Wrigley and partying and partaking in the parade o' poon. God Bless Wrigley Field.

Rook, a few weeks ago I would have said good luck to any Cubs fans I encountered and the gesture would have been genuine. But after all of the White Sox 'hating' and/or insufficient support in my eyes from the northsiders. I am definitely gravitating towrd your view of a typical Sox fan. Go White Sox!!!! That brand of baseball with the same personel can do it again all over next year. And then we will begin to see a vast migration away from Wrigley to the 'Cell'.
