BTW....as a person that doesn't have a favorite Chicago baseball team.....it's now the Cubs that are jealous of the Sox.

Congrats again to the WORLD CHAMPS.

then the manager says that the victory was for the whole city...not just Sox fans...

      It's a great day to be a Chicagoan...North-sider or South-sider.

      Doesn't matter.

Don't be blinded my friend. Just an act....certainly not class, but that's neither here nor there. You just havent' been here long enough to realize it.

And I read in another post at another forum that the city is in more of a "frenzy" then the 85 Bears and all of the Bulls championships. I will respectfully disagree about a million percent.

Enjoy the 15 minutes. The city will go back to the norm in March come spring training.

        BWHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

How many times do we (TRUE Cubs fans) need to tell you all that we're not jealous of the Sox! The jealousy has and always will be Sox fans to us.

We don't give two shits what they do.

The only time we respond is when we're put in that position to respond.

Sox fans can have their fun and rub it in to us Cubs fans...congrats. But if the roles were reveresed, as said again...the last fans we'd be ribbing would be the Sox fans. Why? Cause DON"T CARE!!!

I'm done with this...cause I dont want to be thought of as raining on the parade.

Sox fans...congrats. You were the best team in baseball. Too bad no one wanted to watch it. Yeah...lowest rated world series in decades is the projections. Let me stand and applaud.

But please don't EVER think that anything has somehow changed. It hasn't. You'll see when you all don't sell out for 90% of your games again next year, when Reinsdorf doesn't re-sign Konerko, and Guillen puts his foot in his mouth one too many times. Maybe Jerry will threaten to move the team again like he did years ago when all those "loyal fans" dont' show up. That's a true Chicago team there....

Until then...enjoy the parade, enjoy sox fest...soak it up.

Your 15 minutes has just started.

Never thought I'd see the day, but I stayed up until 3am watching post games, etc. As a former season ticket holder before I moved, and after paying $1K per ticket for Game 1, there's nothing like it. As for the city going back to the "norm" in March, what's the norm? "Fans" going to the bleachers that don't watch the games and don't know the score? At the end of the year, Cub fans couldn't give bleacher seats away......and I hope the Cubs do win a World Series........the year after I die.

And that epitimizes all Sox fans right there.

Thank you SO much for proving my point to a "t"

                Rook,
It's a great day for the Sox fans and Chicago fans.

Let's let the Sox fans have thier 15 minutes...it may never come again.

And , I live in Chicago...and the town is alive right now.

Compareable to the Bulls 6 championships
(baseball is 100% more popular than basketball....Chicago didn't know they had a hoops team till Jordan got drafted)...
but not quite as crazy as in 85 (Bears).

                The bars are packed...
...there is a merchandise stand on every other corner...
...and ALOT of people are wearing BLACK + SILVER.

I know alot of the north-siders think that the Cubs are better because they draw more people to thier park...
                Come on .
Everyone knows that Wrigley is the worlds largest beer garden.
People go there to have fun...not watch the game.

It's a fuckin blast there in thre summer time....a meat market.

The Sox drew over 2 million this year...3rd best in history.
Next year they will break thier attendance record...

Anyway...I always thought the goal was to have the best record....not have the best attendance.

...as the game ended yesterday, I didn't hear the FOX announcer (Buck) say...

"THE WHITE SOX WIN THE WORLD SERIES, BUT THE CUBS DREW MORE FANS TO THIER PARK"

                I just heard...

"THE WHITE SOX WIN THE WORLD SERIES"

                That is what matters.

This isn't Cubs vs Sox....the Cubs have nothing to do with this.
They've been on vacation for 3 weeks.

                Just my unbiased opinion.

Unbiased...that's funny. Buddy I've known you all summer, and one thing you've made perfectly clear is your feeling for the two Chicago baseball teams. Not that there's anything wrong with that...I just don't want people to be mislead by your words.

Lets make sure we get things right.

Baseball is 100% more popular then basketball NOW. And it should be...but back in the dynasty days, nothing could come close to it. To say otherwise, is just obsurd. But glad to see you come to your senses on the 85 Bears.

My final point in all this is simple.

When was the last the last time you heard one orgization from the top to the bottom make sure they stuck it to another team like the Sox have done to the Cubs?

When the Lakers won the championships a few years back did they punk the Clippers out?

How bout the Spurs? Did they call out the Rocket and Mav's organization?

When was the last time you heard George dog the Mets after they won their World Series?

                  You didn't.

                  And why?

Cause those organizations and those fans are much classier then that. They don't need those tactics to make themselves look better, but the Sox do. And there are many reasons for it.

That's why the Cubs have and always will be the classier and more popular team in Chicago.

We'll let you enjoy your 15 minutes, as long as you keep us out of your 15 minutes.

Show some class and celebrate like professionals...not like jealous little babies who can't get the attention they want so badly.

                  Unbiased....LMAO.

                  But I still love ya!

                    Rook ,
I was rooting for the Cubs in 2003 just as hard as I was rooting for the Sox this year.

The only reason I was biased to the Sox this year is because I was making BIG money on them in the 1st half of the season when they were getting absolutely NO RESPECT from the oddsmakers.

Just like in 2003 when I made a shitload on the Cubbies.

                    To clarify the Bulls popularity....
Before Jordan was drafted...the Bulls had 3,000 people watching thier ganes at The Stadium.

                    3,000.

They had only been in existance for about 20 years at the time.

As the Bulls won more trophies, they got more popular.
But I'd say 50% ofthe city didn't give a rats ass about the Bulls....maybe a racial thing, maybe not.

                    But baseball is America's pastime.

And the Cubs + Sox are 2 of the teams that were around at the turn of the century.
That means alot of the old timers are into basesball and not basketball.

But , baseball is AMERICA'S PASTIME (along with hot dogs ,apple pies and Chevies...so they say).

That is why Jerry Reinsdorph (owner of the Bulls AND White Sox).said before the series.....
"I would trade all 6 basketball rings for ONE Baeball Championship"

You did make a lot of money on the Sox this year, and it was a very good marketing tool on your part. It worked, and I dare say it was true...they didn't get the respect they deserved. And lots of people who followed your advise made money as well.

I'm just not sure I agree with you on the Bulls part though. Every year after Jordan it grew and grew and grew, and it wasn't just Chicago, it was the entire country. THey were like rock stars there at the end. I just can't agree with the statement that 50% of Chicago didn't care about them. I just don't believe that to be true...jmo.

Baseball has been around longer, yes..and the wait much longer...so the prize is much sweeter for Jerry. Ah, but I do remember, and actually have the Trib article saved from the 1st championshp where Jerry said that this was the greatest moment of his life and nothing would ever top it.

But of course Jerry would say that now about the White Sox....as he should.
