can someone explain to me what a "package store" is. And why when i was in pittstown mass i couldnt buy beer at a corner store @ 2pm on a saturday???

They are the only places allowed to sell beer. Mass. has it like that everywhere. It's a special license to sell it and it has to be approved like a liquor license does.

that has to be the dumbest thing ever. As much as i love the red sox and hate all the taxes in NY i must say thank god i dont live in mass. Bars close @ like midnite. Cant get beer at a corner store @ 2pm or anytime for that matter. Good god, whats next are you going to tell me that the McDonalds Drive thru's arent open 24/7 either???

They stop selling beer at 1 AM in alot of places in N.E. and bars close at 1 also.

4am here. I dont have a problem with the closing of bars @ midnite or 1am as much as i do with no being able to purchase beer at corner stores. THAT is a crock of BS

Mass. is like that but N.H. and Maine are not. Every store sells it until 1 AM and then they literally lock the beer coolers and you can't even open them up.

Beer you can purchase anytime day or night with the exception of sat after 12am until 12pm on sunday. That 12 hr window you cant buy beer at stores. Bars are allowed to be open @ 10am-4am daily.
