  • Which city has the most Bandwagon Fans?

I don't know about you guys on here, but I hate bandwagon fans. People that only like a team if they're doing good and hate them if they're playing bad. You guys know the type. Anyways, my opinion of the city with the biggest bandwagon fans is Houston, TX. I was born and raised in Houston, but my Dad grew up in St. Louis. I don't know if you guys know this, but if you have any family member that's close to you who grew up in St. Louis you know that you will be raised a Cardinals fan like I was. Anyways, the last 2 years I have heard everyone say how terrible the Astros are at the beginning of the year and how they will never go to another Astros game this season. Then when they come back talk about how they never lost faith in them. If you live in Houston like me, you will know if you read the Chronicle that even our sportswriters are this way. In fact, before game 5 I saw nothing but people wearing Astros gear. Guess how many I see wearing it now? Very few. Sorry to rant and rave but things like this just sicken me.
The 1927 Yankees weren't the best team ever. What everyone fails to realize is that the year before, with the exact same team, they lost to the Cardinals in the World Series.

It is NYC. Funny how many fans come out of the woodwork when teams win. Like the Yankees. Ask a Yankee fan who was the shortstop before Jeter, most around here can't name it.

i agree 100% NYC fans act like they are hardcore but in reality they far from it. A close 2nd is LA fan. All those celebs pretend like they like a team only when they are winning and its cool to be seen at a game....lol

I'm sure you get this in just about every city. Being a lifelong White Sox fan, it disgusts me to see all these people wearing WS shirts, hats, etc. I was a season ticket holder when they were drawing 12000 to a game before I moved to Texas.

Although Dallas might be even worse than Houston. If the Cowboys lose a game, the sky is falling and this team is worse than the 1981 Bucaneers; yet if they win, it's back to the Glory Days of Aikman/Emmitt/Irvin and "How 'bout them Cowboys". Similar last year with the Rangers making some noise. And all of these new-breed Mavericks fans that are "die hards" now that they're playing well.

            L.A.

I disagree......NYY (in NY) fans, IMO, know their sports. They are almost born into it and follow their teams. (check out the attendance records ) I may be wrong but they got over 4 million and were out of first place for most of the year.
I think the same holds true for other traditional, big market teams.
Florida, especially South Florida, has the worst fans. They only follow WINNERS. The Dolphins were close to being blacked out for their home opener, the Hurricanes didn't sell out their opener. The Marlins had a decent team for a good portion of the year, shitty attendance.
The Heat didn't sell out games until Shaq. They may have said they were selling out, but I went to a few games, they closed off the upper bowl sections.
              Remember the three R's:
Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

I could not agree with you more Tony ... Hate seeing these celebs, especially that freaking looking racist that you mentioned, in the front row of these games when the true sport fan would love to sit there with his kids ...

yeah right check out the attendence records for the Yanks in the late 80s, early 90s. no one was there.

i will agree South Florida has the worst fans but they don't just show up for the playoffs. I remember the Dolphins had problems selling out one of their playoff games!

It really makes me sick, honestly. I would much rather have the park with 22000 true "fans" than full with Cub fans that are jumping on the bandwagon.

Don't get me wrong, if the Cubs went to the WS first, I'm sure I would go just to experience it, but I sure as hell wouldn't root for them.

Seriously, When the LA Rams were winning people went, when they were not, the team had to move it was so bad. Bring in the Raiders ........... We'll support them!!!! How did that work out?

The Lakers get all the Celebs when winning. Why do you think they don't support the Clippers?

The LA Kings are truly a joke and they couldn't sell the place out when Gretzky was there.

It's a city of celebs and they show up to be on T.V.

Check out a Dodgers came. It looks and feels like a retirement home. If they were winning all the Celebs would be there!

                          Dallas Cowboys!!!!!

When the Boys are good the fans come out of the woodwork. In losing years they are no where to be found.

You might be right when it comes to NY baseball fans. When it comes to NY Giant fans you are dead wrong. Giant fans support the team no matter what the record is.
