Worst Head Coaches in NFL

He was not a coordinator. He was considered a math genious with a good memory for detail.

That clearly didn't help him coach. I've seen lots of bad coaches. He was without question the worst coach ever. As I stated earlier he inherited a SB winning team. They played horrible under him.

I'm sure there's been new coaches that weren't coordinators. It probably doesn't happen too often anymore.

hands down the worst head coach in the nfl is steve mariucci. he is probably the most conservative coach in the nfl and he never has an answer for anything. what a joke!

What About Ray Perkins( Not Sure You Guys Remember Him Or Not)??? In 8 Yrs He Was A Head Coach At N.y Giants And Tampa Bay, His Record Was 42-75 With Only 1 Playoff Won And 1 Loss In 1981. That Was His Best Year Finishing 9-7.

I don't agree with Perkins while he was head coach of the Giants. He brought the Giants to their first playoff appearance in almost 20 years. He brought back some respectability to the Giants. George Young and Ray Perkins inherited a very bad team. If memory servers me. Perkins was a good QB/offensive coach. He was instrumental in the development of Simms.

They fired Perkins and hired Parcells in 1983. Parcells almost didn't survive his first year as the Giant's coach. They went 3-13 under him. He made a huge mistake going with QB Scott Brunner over Simms.

Perkins did very poor at Tampa. But the Tampa team was probably the worst team in league history before, during and after he coached Tampa.

I Would Nominate Sam Wyche On This List Too But Many Probably Will Disagree With Me Because He Took Cincy To Super Bowl Once But Lost To The S.f 49ers In 1998. His 12 Yrs Record Is 84-107 With Only 3 Winning Seasons. He Had Two 8-8 Seasons; The Rest Were All Losing Seasons.

i think ray perkins actually was not bad....it was when the giants brought george young in that things turned i around.....i do not know if george brought him in..but he got the giants on the right track with the likes of carpenter and others.......he was better than many

frank...i do not think they fired ray....i think he was offered the alabama job...he was very happy in new york and he said that was the "only job" that would ever take him from the giants.....i read that again this week somewhere.....
