I do things to keep myself busy. As an example last weekend I took my daughters out to lunch than the annual carnival.

I like the capping part of this hobby more than the betting part. To me the fun is in the capping.

I used to love watching sports. I still love watching football. I hate the aggravation watching the games I bet. I'd rather not watch.

OK first TD they were down 14-9 and went for 2 to get with in a FG. Seocond FG they had the lead 15-14 and tried to go up by 3 and FAILED. The third failed conversion I already tried to explain. I dont claim to be right but that is the logical thoughts of coaches when making these decisions...

OK you explained yourself. Now heres my reasoning. I was ALWAYS told you kick the ball and get the points when you can. DO NOT go for two until it is absolutely necessary.

I'm so depressed right now. Watching all these tough beats I took. But the sure bet is I'll be back tomorrow.
I don't mind doing that on Sundays with the NFL.

That is why I quit betting sports in the early 90s for about 10 years. It wasn't fair to my young children that I was more concerned with scores than spending time with them. And the mood swings. I quit. I didn't place a single bet for 10 years.

I resumed betting once my kids got a little older. It helps that my income is about 4x or 5x what it was a decade ago. Now if I lose I'm not risking my mortgage or chasing bad loses or bad bets. I consider it a night out on the town.

Last Sunday I was 0-7. Years ago I would have been devastated financially and emotionally. That doesn't happen anymore. That is another reason I make most of my bets at the same time. I'm not effected by betting wins or loses.

Well I kinda got the short end of the stick on two of my big plays today. CSU should have covered but I got the push with -4. OK not so bad. But then later tonight on the Cal/UCLA game I had the push and took a bad beat with a TD as time expired. I will be alright though. We'll get em tomorrow.

Wayne, do you have any children? In my case having children makes a huge difference. Spending time with them helps me keep my mind off sports. I truly enjoy their company. They brighten my day.

Also, even with the worst beat I look at them, talk to them or do something with them and nothing can be better.

I know this wont make complete sense but here is why coaches tradionally go for two up by four late in the game. The is no advantage to being up by either four or five points. If you are up by six there is the hope that the opposing team who already MUST score a TD might miss the extra point. I had Colo. St -4 and the hook so got screwed as well but had UCLA +1.5 so had that one.
I hope Iexpained that well but the entire time I was afraid Colo. St. would go for two...
Hedrick, I'm 45. In all my years of watching and following football I've NEVER seen a coach go for 2 when they are up 4

I'm not disagree with your logic. I've just never seen it.

You sound like a great father Frank. I have a son. He is 7 and lives with his mother 7.5 hours away. Since I moved to Iowa here I havent been able to see him a whole lot. He is a great kid. I wish I didn't have to move away but my wife's schooling took us here.

Frank, i wish i had the power which you have... I would love not to watch a game so i dont get frustrated over it... I mean, when i bet the nba i did it with ease..i couldn't stand watching them play 1 second... but in other sports, i like to watch them...

                          P.S. I hate Carny's!!

Thanks Mojo. I truly believe having children makes me a better capper. I know that sounds corny. I guess it comes with being mature and making wise gambling decisions.

I believe every member at this site should win. I think most lose for one reason. Poor money management. A sports bettor can make a ton of money hitting 54%. Too many bettors have the wrong mental approach. They feel they should win EVERY game. Many sports bettors do not know how to accept loses. Expecially tough loses.

A perfect example. Recently a member apologized for going 3-2. 3-2 is 60%. If someone told me I'd go 3-2 every night. I'd quit my job tomorrow. Betting a Dime a game I'd win almost $1000 each day. That's $365k for the year. I doubt any members win 365k per year.

Frank! I am not going to disagree cos no one repects your capping more than I. I cannot name a single time a team has gone for 2 up by four but believe I have seen it several times. Either way I got screwed!!! but more importantly will follow your plays religiously starting tommorow about 1pm eastern...
