I was thinking the same thing, Ram Fan......Carpenter has gotten clobbered by the Pirates, Cubs, Brewers and Astros his last 4 starts. Not exactly the 1927 Yankees. With Peavy going twice, they might only have to get lucky in one more game to pull it off.

Let me give all you guys a hint in a series I could care less about. The Padres have no shot not shot at all against the Cardinals,

Savage, after looking at matchups, I think it'll go 5 games, too. I think the White Sox lose game 1, win games 2 & 3, lose game 4, and then come back home for the rubber match. They need to keep Damon/Renteria off the bases in order to be successful. White Sox have played well lately, winning 8 of 10, and for as much talk as we heard about choking and how bad they've been, they're 18-12 since 9/1 which isn't too shabby.

Tough call the pitching will be in one side on both the Boston and Yankees series. But history tells you The great teams always find a way!And they srill got some good pitching of thier own on top of that superior offence in both series good value going against them but the win isn't . First round shouldn't be too surprising. Only series that will be close is the Yankees maybe. But man this is actually a great playoffs minus San Diego but if they get thier shit together they might win 1 game first. It will be fun this year.

Love Houston! Pettitte, Oswalt, and Clemens in a short 5-game series plus the close call motivation and experience from last year gets them past the young Braves. I will also take the homefield advantage "dogs" Chicago and LA. Even with a split we make money!

Jammin....you don't think the Red Sox/White Sox series will be close? Boston has no pitching.....starting or bullpen. Chi Sox have hammered Clement/Wells/Wakefield in the past. Yes, Boston pitchers have post season pitching experience, but those guys haven't pitched well in awhile (other than Wake). I don't think they can just flip the switch because it's the post season. Also, the White Sox starters have post season experience, too, as Contreras, Garcia, Buerhle, El Duque (maybe Garland), have all pitched in the playoffs. I think this one goes the full 5 games.

I'm with you Art on the Angels and White Sox. Surprised that the Hou/Atl series is basically even money. EVERYONE I hear in the media is picking Houston to win the series, which might be why I might go out on a limb and take Atlanta.

                  Art!

I couldnt agree more. The best value for your $$$ has to be with the home dawgs, The White Sox and Angels.

Anyone who thinks that the White Sox series wont be close is simply ignorant to the capabilities of that squad.

Jake Peavy in a short series gives SD a chance but Adam Eaton can be nasty as well. I dont think the Padres win that series but at +320 it might be a worth time to consider...

Knew the SOX would win the series...LOL

...but , seriously...I made one of the largest wagers of my life on The WHITE Sox to win that series...

...I know, you're happy for me... LOL

Guys...Chicago has the best starters and the best pen in the AL....
...plus their closer (Bobby Jenks) is relatively unknown....spent the 1st half of the year in Double A...

...he's got a 100mph fastball...and THREE other pitches he can throw for strikes....includind a NASTY curve that is freezing the batters.

When Ozzie took El Duque out in the 9th...I thought it was a mistake...but Jenks came in and blew em away.

Hope they are +200 in the next series.

                    GL to all
