Tarver/Jones In Fight Thread!!

Roy has a glass jaw, so he can't fight Tarver flat-footed in the middle of the ring. He has to box, and it appears that that's what he's been training to do these past few months. You don't normally train as intensely as Roy did this time just to slug. I think he's going to stay on his toes, use the ring, and give Tarver a boxing lesson. If he can stick to his plan, I think he'll definitely outpoint Tarver, and might well knock him out. Tarver has one-punch knockout power, but with intelligent boxing Roy can overcome that. His worst enemy is his own ego. If he slugs it out in the middle of the ring, he's doomed.

not true....tarver can win a grind em out fight or can knock you out...he is a classic counter-puncher who has an awkward style and is a southpaw.....tarver has gone the distance many times

i have seen too many boxing matches not go the right way.....you probably would have won, but better to stick with sports that are familiar.....

I think it was ridiculous for people to think Roy would win this fight tonight . He didn't have 1 bad fight but the last 2 and he showed he couldn't bounce back. He ISN'T the best pound for pound anymore and that was obvious many months ago. People were betting on Roy thinking it was the same guy from 5 years ago and simply put ..... IT ISN'T!

He ISN'T the best pound for pound anymore and that was obvious many months ago. People were betting on Roy thinking it was the same guy from 5 years ago and simply put ..... IT ISN'T!

welcome to the sport of boxing wayne.....it has happened since the beginning of time.......people back the ex-champs....

remember, before the last 2 fights...roy had never been hit,,,,had the speed to nothave to jab...so obviously if his speed goes...so does his game.......but people buy the hype and boxing is crooked....so thats where i think it comes from....i took tarver late...but small.......just had a weird feeling is all......logic says tarver for me and if you look at all my posts you will see that......all i say is that nothing in boxing surprises me....
