Tony Larussa is not going to care what the league wants out of a All - Star game, he's going to manage NL to win. let me put it this way, if the Cards were 17 games out of first I would say that this game doesn't matter, but the fact is, is that the Cards are in 1st and it does matter to Tony. I haven't really broke it all down yet but my lean is towards the NL and the under.
i agree Bear. my information tells me that Larussa wants to win this game. some have said that you might not see the usual rotation of players. he just might keep that hot pitcher in a little longer. i do not know. i do know that Larussa wants home field for the world series. gl to everybody whatever you do.

And Franconna does not? Both coaches want to win, but the players play the game. Pitchers give up hits and homeruns and fielders make outs and errors, not coaches. They will play to win, but will also play guys that deserve to get in cause they made the team!. I just hope it's a good game!

Another thing to consider. This is still baseball. You got to touch 'em all to score. Nobody wants to be embarassed at the plate or on the mound. This is not your typical all star game where no defense is played. Players will play the field, they will run and hit and they will be trying to get the batters out. There's no gimme(s) in the MLB all star game.
