1 Unit on Atlanta Braves -150 (Prior - R, Smoltz - R)
With Derek Lee aggravating his shoulder yesterday, I beleive the Cubs offense is in dire straights. They simply cannot rely on an older Burnitz, a not 100% Lee, and Smoltz who is simply been on fire in June. Furthermore, the Braves are meshing together as a team and their young guns are simply batting well including Johnson, Langerhans, Betimet - who are these guys?! - guys that get timely hitting. Johnson was on CBS sportsline last week for batting well over .360 and having 11 rbis in one week! Smoltz has won his last 3 and in his last 24 innings sports a 0.75 eras with a complete game for an icing - and a whip in the mid 6's! Furthermore, Smoltz's overall era is down to 2.39. Also, the curse of players coming back from the DL in the second start they tend to struggle more. For all these reasons, I'll go with the Braves with the hotter pitcher who has been more consistent with lack of injuries, a better offense, and no 100% Derek Lee. The line here is nice considering Prior is on the mound so I'll take it.
1 Unit on Colorado Rockies U 11 -115 (Penny - R, Chacon - R)
I made this call Monday and people thought I was nuts. Today a simular line presents itself with these 2 pitchers in S. Chacon who is the Rockies Ace before he went down and Brad Penny. Penny in his last 21 innings has a 1.71 era. He faces pretty much a double A offense in the Rockies so I don't see many runs being scored. Furthermore, Chacon returns for the Rockies today and will have a good performance from a Double A lineup in the Dodgers without Lawton, Drew, or Larue. Its important to mention that Kent pulled a hamstring in last night's game and is listed day-to-day. Even with Kent, I still don't seeing many runs being scored. In return, all the Rockies have is Helton. Once again, with two solid pitchers and two weak offensees for 11.5 runs, this over and under seems great to take for -120.
1 Unit on Minnesota Twins O 7½ +100 (Santana - L, Byrd - R)
The balls fly out of LA during the day- THIS IS TRUE wind out to L @ 9 mph over ump 8-5 overall 3-1 L3 avg 10.43 RPG 3 runs more than i need!!!!!
