Foulke needs to go to set up roll for a few weeks.

Am I the only one that thinks that Arroyo would make a decent temporary closer?
(when Schilling comes back he is probably 1st to the pen if everyone is healthy)

Foulke SUCKS! I hear he's having personal problems and going through a divorce.

I think you might see a phantom injury that puts him on the 15 Day DL to get his head straight and Timlin would close while he's gone.

How quickly fans forget how the redsox won the world series last year-- would never have happened without Foulke pitching as well as he did--- red sox fans need to relax with foulke because come october we will be fine.

                      Are you serious??????????

When you make 8 million i would say he did his job last year, you know, what he's paid to do? Should we not care about winning anymore since we won once? He has blown several games for us and he's NOT earning his money, period!

You Cub fans shouldn't settle for mediocrity either!

yes, foulke was lights out during the playoffs, but most of his games he makes quite interesting by getting 1 or 2 men on before coming through.....i do not think we are overreacting....this is like the 8th or 9th time....At how many blown saves or fuck ups would you acknowledge the problem.....I think we are just being proactive and realistic....you do not go from lights out to an almost 10 ERA recently without there being a problem....I heard a quote from a scout saying they are all just sitting back on his changeup and since he has lost velocity on his fastball of 4-6 mph, there is only a 5 mph tailoff from his fastball to his changeup, so they are just sitting....and ripping the ball........whereas a fastball pitcher like mariano you are looking for gas and he can get you offbalance......foulke can not at the moment and i think the results speak for themselves.....as a cubs fan you should be more critical yourself.....instead of just accepting losing

Tony they said last night that in save chances his Era is 10.43

How are we over reacting? It's over 3 months into the season and something isn't right!

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Red Sox closer Keith Foulke will leave the team and return to Boston to determine if a knee problem is the cause of his struggles. The disabled list is a possibility, manager Terry Francona said.

"We think there's a chance, but we want to let it run its course," Francona said before Tuesday night's game against the Texas Rangers. "He'll never turn the ball down. He'll take the ball every day. So I need to step in and say, 'No, you won't. We're going to get you looked at.' And I think he's OK with that. I think he actually appreciated it."
