For the first game of the series you can go to mlb.com and the umps will be listed approx. 30 min before game time under scores/gameday. If you want to check the umps for game two before they are listed the next day at ******. to get a head start the rotation will normally place the 1st base umpire behind the plate for the next game. Umps control a game big time not only with totals but who is going to win the game also.

So just for fun while waiting out the remaining hours of work - i put together a spreadsheet that takes fantasy pitching stats from three sources and uses the umpires O/U % as a multiplier to produce a rating - just to test it out. For know umpires so far for tonight:

Best potential unders (with rating):
NYM/HOU UNDER 6.5 +126 (10.90)
DET/LAD UNDER 8 -105 (19.58)

Best potential overs (with rating):
TB/CINN OVER 9.5 -122 (114.82)
NYY/MIL OVER 8.5 -116 (98.00)

I will play them for 1* for a week - see how it goes - record 0-0-0

Larry - Can you do the home favorite umpire stats as well. Some value may be found there. As with fades- a cut off will need to be directed to insure quality.

Larryonion/ Waynechung--- Nice start 4-3 on the first day of "Pump da Ump". 1) Lets minimize the selections and take the greater percentages. All three top plays won handily with the sides (Atlanta) and the totals . Good work.

Hey Spearit - lets make sure we track the units as well. I am working on the home % now. Do you think we should also factor in the two teams playing home/away records? I think it would be easy to do.

I agree on the units-lets make it easy to follow. Just 5 for top plays and 2 for those who wish to take little more of a chance. I also was going to mention the units but didn't want to confuse the trial. If we have our top plays- best percentages on the both totals and then a side (home/away)- we may do well.
Chung - any ideas you have would be appreciated. Your contribution is important to this.
Last night this would have been 3-0 on the 5 plays and 1-3 on the 2 Plays. That would be a profit of 11 units this way. For a bettor of 100 per unit- We would be up 1100 dollars if even money. Nothing to sneeze at. One night, however, means nothing until we establish a trend to bet on wisely. Until we get established stay with this thread and post em as you see it. What constitutes a 5 play. Top play from each category. I do not know if we have away oriented umps- I would doubt it. Good Luck Guys.
