I disagree that the Heat are the better team. I think Detroit is more talented. The key to this game will be the officiating. If the officials give the marginal calls to the home team then the Heat will win. If they call a fair game then the Pistons have a good shot.

For the record, I'm 75-78 on 1* picks. The record I posted on top is correct for the 2, 3 and 4* picks. Being brain dead, I added those up rather than subtract them from the total. The YTD and all other numbers are correct. My top picks all year have been great and my 1*'s have been like flipping coins

I don't David Stern has anything to do with it. Its strickly about the refs getting caught up in the heat (no pun intended) of the game. I believe refs get intimidated by the home crowd.

If you remember that game, the entire Kings team, except Bibby, choked badly down the stretch (remember Doug Christie airballing two threes in a row?). The Lakers, at the height of their talent, were extended to the limit to win that game. There is something about Game 7 that tends to bring out the best in home teams. If Wade and Shaq were not hurt, I'd predict the Heat by about 14. But they are hurt, which is why I think miami wins a close one.

Good Luck Gris...I'm also on the Heat. Detroit is a different shooting team when not playing at home. They have averaged 100 points per game at home but only 84 per game on the road in this series. Public perception is always short term memory, which was game 6 at home.

I would like to know in that 23-7 record for home teams how many of the home teams had an injured and perhaps sub par player for game 7? That counts for something.
How many teams came back from 0-3 like the Red Sox last year against the Yanks, won gam4 and then swept the WS?
In a game like this I say go with your perception of the teams playing now and don't rely on stats from other series which have no bearing on THIS game.
Bet the Heat if you think Wade will be able to play and contribute a lot, but I tink it is a mistake to hang your hat on the 23-7 trend.

The Kings were leading that series 3-2.

Game 7 has favoried the home team in a big way.
