I love all you guys with coment who Know absolutely nothing about NASCAR or racing. "Fuck Gordon" Ya, Great thought!!!! Back up your problems with some knowledge of the sport instead of being a muscle bound asshole with a small dick!!!!!!!!!!

Like someone else said,...."THERE WHOULD BE NO TONY STEWART, IN NASCAR, WITHOUT JEFF GORDON!!!!!!!"

I like Tony Stewart as a driver and love his old style of having a no holes bared kind of attitude. It spices up what has truely become a made for TV sport of late. But he was so out of line with putting Gordon out of the race like that!!
Why is it that the NECK'S response to NASCAR is always the same? "I love all you guys with coment who Know absolutely nothing about NASCAR or racing".

What the fuck is there to know? They turn left. I live in Daytona. I know plenty about the racing event. I call it 'event' because it certainly isn't a sport. It's on the same level as WWW wrestling. Drivers are not athletes. There's not a single NASCAR driver that could ever hit a major league baseball or join the PGA. Michael Jordon with intensive training couldn't hit a curve ball. I'm very confident that most MLB players with a $25+ million dollar budget can learn and train to drive a NASCAR successfully.

It's the only 'event' that has differnet rules for different cars (teams). Can one imagine that since the Spurs are the best team in the NBA they shoot at an 11-foot basket while the other teams shoot at a 10-foot basket.

In 2003 Ryan Newman won more races than the top 3 point drivers combined. Yet he finished 6th in points. No other EVENT rewards non-winner more than NASCAR. NASCAR puts no preium on winning races. The PGA unlike NASCAR puts a premium on winning. Any golfer that won 8 events, while only one other golfer had as many as 4 wins, would clearly be the PGA player of the year.

Now you have Robbie "Neck" Gordon whining about Danica Patrick's unfair advantage. What a joke!

I'm certainly not muscle bound. Although, I am an asshole with a small dick.

In response to Frankb03......Nascar rewards consistance and longjevity. Anyone with a decent team and motor program can put it togther and win some races....However it takes a different kind of driver and team to put together 36 good races to be the best. It takes knowing that your car is a 15th place car and keep it there to get the most points you can. Rather than try to hard and blow out the engine or end up crashing because you are trying to do something with a car that just doesn't have it. Ryan Newman and Dale Jr., just to name to high profile drivers that are popular, are never going to win one championship. Ya know why they don't have the savy of a Dale Sr. a Darrel Waltrip, or a Jeff Gordon!!! If they don't learn it fast they they ain't gonna be true Champions!!! And I personally like both drivers!!! If you live in Daytona and are a TRUE fan, which it doesn't sound like, You would know all this already. Sounds like you are a fish out of water. you should move to Chicago!!!!LOL

Wayne, I am chilled out boss!! This ain't even got my hair standing up yet on my neck. If it does you'll know. I live this sport and don't like it when people don't know what they are truely talking about. Ya they may have some knowledge but the days of "Gordon Sucks man" and idot statements like that are over. Back it up with something. That's like me saying,"Earnhardt was the worst fucking driver ever" I know he wasn't so why say it. Give me some real Fans with something to say that matters.

And it's all good fellas. There are no hard feelings at all. Just get fired up once in awhile. don't we alll!!!!!

That's precisely why NASCAR sucks. A driver in the top 10 of a race makes no attempt to improve their position? Why? They drive conservative. It's all about accumulating points not winning races.

Don't you think the best team would still win championships if they had more of a premium on winning races? I do. The top drivers and teams will still be vying for the championship. It'll make the races more exciting.

The Twin 125s is by far the worst race on the circuit. The lead drivers make no attempt to pass. They race single file solely to qualify. BORING. I went to the twins a few years ago. I'd never go back.

One doesn't need to be a fan to have knowledge. I was a fan. At one time. I used to go to all the Daytona races. I watched most races on TV. As the years progressed I liked it less and less. The Pepsi race in Daytona after Dale Sr. died was a joke. No one attempted to pass Dale Jr. They wanted him to win. You'd never see that in any other sport.

Let me be the first to congratulate all involved for getting a thread in the NASCAR forum to page 2. All without posting a girl in it.......

I am a fan of the SPORT, not a fanatic, but I do enjoy it.
I also believe there are some fishy things that go on.
In a SPORT where the cars and the rules make for such an even playing field, I believe NASCAR officials can control , to some extent, who will finish well.
I believe this can be achieve through a sloppy pre race inspection. Maybe they miss weight in the front or innacurately measure the front or rear end. Too many variables throughout a race can change an expected outcome but in my opinion they can still give an unfair advantage.
Why else would a Loews sponsored car win a Loews sponsored race 3 years in a row?
How many other times does the home town favorite win?

.....And yes I still consider it a sport.
If golf , a "sport" in which a 14 year old girl can compete with so called professional men is sport, then racing is a sport.

Oh and to get back on the topic I veared away from, I can't stand J Gordon, but I due respect his skills.
              Remember the three R's:
Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

                Alright.

Frank some of the things you say really are ridiculous. First off you can't compare it to other sports because it is not one team vs. one other team where one simply wins and one loses. It's also not like Tennis where it's one single athlete vs another head to head. It probably compares the most if with any with golf. Several participants on their own and each has their caddy (pit crew) and in Golf yes they do play it safe on Sunday if they realize they are not winning by trying to protect 9th,10th etc. Why? Well for one it's more money like Nascar with each spot you move up and two it helps you in the Ryder Cup point standings towards the end of the year.

I realize everyone has their "Opinions" and i have no problem with that but just because you don't like something it doesn't mean it isn't a Sport. I've said it time and time again. It is covered by every sports media outlet out there, covered on all news by the Sports guys, Covered in EVERY Newspaper in the Sports section and covered 3-4 times a week as main stories on ESPN, ESPNEWS, Headline Sports, Fox Sports and so on. You name me one thing covered on a weekly basis by EVERY ONE of the above that is NOT a sport.

Athletes? Who cares. I've never understood that argument. John Daly isn't exactly in great shape and neither are 99% of the Senior tour players. Does that mean Golf is not a Sport?

Nobody passed or wanted to pass Jr. after dad died right? I agree and watched it but it's not like players havn't been caught shaving points or refs have been in question for helping certain popular teams for T.V. ratings in many different sports. Hell in Womens College Hoops they let a Uconn girl out for her Senior Season with an injury walk out for an uncontested hoop to break a scoring record. To say it's fixed is not saying much and i think we can both give several examples of "Fixed" things in many other sports as well.

I agree with you on some points but others are truly ridiculous and not even compatible.

                  Another thing.

As far as just having money and you too can race? That might be partially true but it's mostly bogus. You would be bleed dry buying a car and team then jumping in because i guarantee you would be broke before you ever qualified for a race. EVERY driver up there put in many years at small tracks learning the trade. The perception is we all drive to work therefore we can drive a car at 180-200 miles an hour without making a tiny mistake for 4-5 hours. Good Luck!

You mentioned Jordan hitting a baseball well the difference is at worst you strikeout and it was fun. In Nascar a Strikeout can cost you your life. Ask one of if not the best Dale Sr. about that. Jason Priestly the actor thought it was fun to race in a MUCH LOWER AND SLOWER level but it nearly cost him his life. Why don't more rich people try it? It's not because it's not popular and the 100,000-200,000 people at every race coast to coast prove that. It's because you could die or break limbs learning and never see the Nascar circuit.

I guarantee i have 100% more of a chance hitting a baseball off Tim Wakefield than i do qualifying and surviving a Daytona or Talladega Race. I would be scared to death at one of those tracks and i'm sure all will say it would be fun trying but if you don't think they would spin that car around going through a turn at a buck 60 or 80 and light up a wall you're crazy!

Dawg my point is even these 19-20 year olds started when they were 11 or 12 in go karts, sprints and so on. They don't sign on the dotted line and jump in. There's more to it than that.

I have to agree totally with Frank, the Twins are an absolute waste of time. Personally never liked it or uderstood why one race had to be so off the beaten path compared to the rest!!!! Qualifiy and go race!! Nascar does that for 35 races a year. Then there is the Daytona 500 and all the rules go out the window. And I TOTALLY agree that Dale Jr. was ALLOWED to win that race in the Pepsi 400 the same year that his Daddy died. That made the JFK cover up look like peanuts compared to what NASCAR did. That was a bunch of SHIT!!!!

Some of my comments might be ridiculous. That's your OPINION. The logic that all the networks ****** the event makes it a sport is asinine. All the networks cover the spelling bee including ESPN. Does that make it a sport?

Since when does being an athlete require being in shape. Most if not all offensive linemen are nothing more than out of shape fat fucks. Are you saying they are not athletes?
